My First Step In A Larger World

Having spent a decade writing for online Forums and organizations – I finally decided to make the time and write my own blog.

So here it is – a Sunday in late August 2007, upping my thoughts for all to read in my own domain. I imagine many will find me one of two ways: either as a mean-spirited, rabid Right Wing, hate-filled, xenophobic, racist, homophobe, bigot (which is what my antogonists on the Left love to call me) …

…or, someone with passion who does not flinch in standing up for his thoughts and ideas.

I’ll let you decide which, but know up front that I am not governed by what other people think of me. I say what I mean, and I mean what I say without apology.

Prayers this evening for brethren and folks down in Jamaica who are taking a beating from hurricane Dean as I write. Looks like Kingston (the major city) took the full brunt of the Northern eyewall – and all of the island will be getting hurricane force winds. Having been there twice, and getting to know locals – I can attest that something as powerful as Dean will be reminiscant of Rita’s damage on the Gulf Coast two years ago for the unlucky Jamaican people.

Also prayers for the families of those two NYFD firefighters who died yestarday battling a fire in the shelled-out remains of the Deutsche Bank in Manhattan that was crushed by the South Tower of the World Trade Center falling on it on 9-11-01. These firefighters are now the latest victims of 19 Hijackers that struck this nation 6 years ago.

We must never forget.

Sadly, so many have.
