EPA Being Used to Destroy Oil, Gas and Coal Industry

Obama’s EPA demands oil refiners use an additive that does not even exist, and then fines them for not complying.

First they came for BP and Big Oil, but no one spoke out because the public has been led to hate oil companies by the Leftist media.  Then they came for electricity, but no one spoke out against the absurdity of Obama making electric bills skyrocket by bankrupting power plants.  Then they came for the coal industry, but no one spoke out because coal is ‘dirty’ according to Obama and solar power is the choice the government wants used.

Then they came for the gasoline in my car by bankrupting oil refiners with demands to use an additive that does not even exist.

But when gas reaches over $10 a gallon, no one will be left to speak out against Obama using the EPA to destroy the energy industry in America.

With apologies to Niemoller, the latest insanity from the current tyrannical regime in power lives up to the prophetic statement from Ayn Rand about making everything about America that made us a superpower, to be a crime – a reality.

After Obama’s bold statements and actions to bankrupt the power industry using the EPA – His Heinous now turns to gas refiners themselves , in his ongoing war against America’s energy industries.

The latest news is that the EPA is penalizing refineries for not adding cellulosic ethanol, a substance that does not even exist.  But that does not matter when the goal is to bankrupt and destroy America’s energy industry and replace it with a failed ‘green’ energy industry that Obama and his cronies own and run with taxpayer money to the tune of BILLIONS (anyone recall Solyndra?).

EPA blasted for requiring oil refiners to add type of fuel that’s merely hypothetical

Federal regulations can be maddening, but none more so than a current one that demands oil refiners use millions of gallons of a substance, cellulosic ethanol, that does not exist.

“As ludicrous as that sounds, it’s fact,” says Charles Drevna, who represents refiners. “If it weren’t so frustrating and infuriating, it would be comical.”

And Tom Pyle of the Institute of Energy Research says, “the cellulosic biofuel program is the embodiment of government gone wild.”

Refiners are at their wit’s end because the government set out requirements to blend cellulosic ethanol back in 2005, assuming that someone would make it. Seven years later, no one has.

“None, not one drop of cellulosic ethanol has been produced commercially. It’s a phantom fuel,” says Pyle. “It doesn’t exist in the market place.”

And Charles Drevna adds, “forcing us to use a product that doesn’t exist, they might as well tell us to use unicorns.”

And yet, they still have to pay what amounts to fines:

“Why would they ask them to blend any at all if it doesn’t exist?” Pyle said. “Because they know that they can squeeze some extra dollars out of them.”

This passage of scripture aptly describes the current cultural nonsense of worshipping the earth among so many Americans and professing Christians, who have had their wisdom replaced with idiocy, and exchanged truth for a lie that now threatens to impoverish and enslave a once mighty economic Superpower to the ash heap of history.

In the mad zeal to “save the creation” from evil Americans who live their lives by driving cars and working in industry that supplies energy, we have sealed our fate to misery.  $4.00 a gallon gasoline and rising is not enough to slow the juggernaut of the eco-marxists and environmentalists from influencing Congress to take even further repressive actions that will make gas prices soar to levels not even being whispered about yet.

The Natural Resources Defense Council thwarted the ConocoPhillips refinery in Roxana, Illinois from expanding.  To put it in the terms Alan Caruba from the Canadian Free Press: “No Drilling. No New Refineries. Get a Horse!”

I keep wondering how long it will take Americans to connect the dots and figure out why the most powerful economy the world has ever seen cannot manage to drill for oil in its own backyard and then get it refined nearby.

The news on June 10, if anyone was paying attention, was about the way the Natural Resources Defense Council and other environmental groups were able to thwart the plans of ConocoPhillips to expand its refinery in Roxana, Illinois. An appeal to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency was upheld because, said the EPA, its air permit, previously granted, just did not meet all the excruciating requirements involved.

For the record, ConocoPhillips was and is prepared to invest an estimated $1 billion to add a second coker, otherwise known as a crude oil processor. The company wants to expand in order to process Canadian tar sands oil. These days it refines approximately 306,000 barrels of oil per day to produce gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, asphalt and other products.”

This explains in part why ExxonMobil has just announced it will sell off its gas stations because the real money is made “upstream” as they say in the oil industry. The profits from the “downstream”, in this case at the pump, are so small as to be a drag on earnings.

All those members of Congress that want to punish the oil companies for making aprofit should check the balance sheet. From 2003 to 2007, ExxonMobil paid taxes (in all forms) in the amount of $64.7 billion. This actually exceeded its U.S. earnings by more than $19 billion! You do the math. Exploration, discovery, and drilling are where the money is. Wisely, this company has diversified into chemicals and a variety of petroleum related products.

Meanwhile, the only thing that the Greens are pumping is more hot air about global warming. According to the Sierra Club, “climate change is decimating many species” and pushing Congress to pass the Global Warming Wildlife Survival Act. Another name for it might as well be the “Do Not Drill for Oil, Mine for Coal, and Build a Pipeline for Natural Gas Act.” The world is not running out of polar bears, but Americans who have to pay $4 plus for a gallon of gasoline are beginning—at last—to run out of patience.

Over at Friends of the Earth, they are very annoyed that America’s high school students studying civics might read a new textbook that raises questions about global warming and/or climate change, based on real science, not the lies they and other Greens have been putting out for decades. FOE is currently flogging something they call “climate equity.” According to them, “The next President must acknowledge that the U.S. has contributed more global warming pollution to our atmosphere than any other nation.”

Oh yeah? What about those coal-fired plants that China can’t build fast enough to provide electricity? Or comparable efforts in India to meet the needs of a growing economy? In the end, the Greens are utterly opposed to any development, i.e., modernization, anywhere and they don’t care how many lies they have to tell.

Actually, they don’t have to worry that much. The next President will either be a Democrat who wants to further destroy what’s left of the oil industry in America or a Republican who believes global warming is real.

The Greens here in America don’t want you to drive your car, your truck, your tractor or that big Harley-Davidson hog. They don’t want any oil company to drill for oil anywhere on or offshore of America. They don’t want any new refineries built.

In short, get a horse!

Marxists and Communists have seized this tool and are using it to strip America of her wealth, common sense and prosperity by imposing false guilt among the people to ‘save the earth’ by selling their heritage and birthrights to an irrational and bogus fear that somehow, America is destroying the planet.

Even Southern Baptists have bought into the heresy of earth worship.  And now Congress is considering the ‘Global Warming Wildlife Survival Act’, which coming on the heels of declaring the polar bear ‘threatened‘ which takes any arctic oil exploration or drilling off the table, should take all oil, coal and natural gas production out of America altogether.  This will place us in absolute dependence upon hostile Middle Eastern nations for energy, and there is no doubt that they  can and will use that as a weapon against us.

The liberal Left would like nothing better than to see no oil, coal or gas being produced in the United States, and for the Federal Government to nationalize the oil and energy industry the way they are talking about taking over healthcare.

This should frighten every liberty-loving and common sense American to their core.  But alas, class envy has wrought it’s poison well throughout the country – and a willingly duped populace is happy to hate the wealthy and the industries that have supplied the nation with cheap energy for decades, because they have bought into the Satanic lie that the planet is dying because Americans live a modern life.

America will be relegated to transport by horse and cart, light by candles and campfires themeselves may be all we have to warm our homes in the coming Winters if the idiocy of these monstrous ideas in Congress are passed into law.

Clearly, the government creates more misery and problems when it interferes and regulates the free market.

This idiocy is all by design of course.  It is much easier to control a dependent people than a free people.  And when a behemoth government senses an angry and restless people because of their misguided and deliberately harmful policies, they will take away their comforts and again cause the populace to roll over and accept whatever parcels of sustenance and liberty it is willing to distribute.

In short, America is comfortable with slavery and accepts idiotic and harmful policies because we are a nation bereft of wisdom.

Having tossed God out of the country – we have traded wisdom for folly, and are too busy worshipping the creation to notice that the tyranny of men has enslaved us.
