Absolut Celebrates America’s Takeover By Mexico

Asshat Reconquinista Ad

Americans by nature, are slow to wrath.

We’re generally an easy-going people and esteem the best out of everyone, even madmen that threaten to nuke us. Americans always hope for the best, and try to see the goodness in people, a mentality that Anne Frank wrote in her famous diary in the midst of humanity’s brutality, right before she was taken by force and gassed to death by the Nazis.

Sadly, I fear in this age of Multicultural nonsense, there is very little that can be done to threaten and demean us, since many of our countrymen are joining the thuggish throngs of the world in denouncing ourselves. American presidents are burned in effigy alongside American flags and dummies of marines that are spit on and burned by the anti-war morons in American streets.

But I saw a glimmer of hope this week, as American tempers and blood boiled over with the release of Absolut Vodka’s marketing program in Mexico. The campaign depicts the entire Southwest of America taken over and annexed by Mexico, in solidarity with the Atzlan and Mecha movments for the Reconquinista of the United States. It’s huge hit in Mexico as I’m sure you can imagine, though the Multiculturalists and Mexicans are taken aback by the reaction it’s getting here in the States.

Apparently words and stories by Jihadists about promising America’s coming doom and marches by millions of Illegal Mexican Insurgents making demands are not enough to resonate with most people, but a liquor ad with a simple map puts match to the powder keg.

I guess better late than never.

Absolut vodka ad stirs a U.S.-Mexico debate
Some in the north take offense at the depiction of an old border.

MEXICO CITY — The latest advertising campaign in Mexico from Swedish vodka maker Absolut seemed to push all the right buttons south of the U.S. border, but it ruffled a few feathers in El Norte.

As word of the campaign spread across the border, primarily via the Internet, some in the United States began giving the campaign a much more hostile reception.

The colorful ad, created by the Teran\TBWA agency and the vodka maker, is a sight gag depicting what a map of North America might look like “In an Absolut world,” i.e., a perfect one.

Oh yeah?

Well, here’s AMERICA”S Idea of the “Perfect World”, created and submitted by yours truly:

Shove that in your tortillas and smoke it Absolut!

Michelle Malkin reveals the “Mealy-mouthed” and rude response coming from the makers of Absolut HERE.

  1. Add this Photoshop job to the pile of those spoofing the Absolut ad.

  2. AWEsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow, have you ever seen a map of the United States from the 19th century? The map shows the area of land once owned by Mexico/Spain. They actually had no choice but to cede the land to the United States because they could not populate it with citizens who would willingly defend it (it is mostly desert, after all). So what if the advertiser wants to appeal to Mexican pride, you believe in free market capitalism, right? What about when they appeal to American pride? How is it different?

  4. invar

I’m appealing to American pride in my ideas of free market capitalism in the face of agitators and invaders.

Once upon a time, sons of Tennessee decided to make a stand. Only fitting that good old Jack Daniels revive that spirit.

  5. VoteNader

Right, so Absolut, as a private company, is doing its best to make a buck by marketing to a certain demographic’s sense of national history. According to your love of American-style capitalism, how is this so outrageous?

Hey, if Jack Daniels wanted to make that ad, they’d be within their right (though it would no doubt upset some Venezuelans!) Nice Photoshop work, btw

Can we remove the obscene comment photo by VoteNader? Just wondering. I just discovered this blog and really like it. I would like to direct my friends here and maybe even my children. Don’t feel right about it with this photo though.
    😦

  7. invar

I apologize Kim. I appreciate your concern and am glad this blog can be of service to you and your children.

Unfortunately, this blog has been a target of attacks and filth by those who hate what this blog stands for and says, and I do not have any ability to delete avatars without deleting the posts themselves.

That particular poster now has his replies reviewed before I will allow them to be displayed, and as long as his avatar is offensive, any new posts he makes will not be displayed.

Any pornographic or offensive avatars will result in the entire post being removed and the poster banned from posting here.

Just do understand that those opposed to the truth have no problems with tossing vileness in an attempt to silence the truth from being presented in a public forum.

Considering who that person supports politically, such offensive juvenile garbage can be expected.

    It’s who they are.

votenader is correct, the thinking that you are demonstrating is exactly the kind of thinking you are condemning, it’s called hypocrisy.

Oh poor americans who think like you, you don’t realise even if your capitalism is spreading all over people worldwide hate you.
By The way, all those states you feel proud of… they have names in Spanish, and they became part of the United States by corruption, war and death like you do all the time. The land of freedom? The land of hope? Europe is a land of freedom and hope. Democracy at the US? Oh god people of this blog you really do live in a big fat lie that your media tells you.. and your presidents and all of your “values” : hate, corruption, no ethics, war (just to remind you, at war people are killed, Jesus would have never approved war..!!!!!), discrimination, nonsense national pride…
sorry if you are offended but it is true, ask anyone in Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America, Canada, Australia…and the half of your country that doesn’t think like this blog.
In Mexico no one knows about an”aztlan reconquista” they don’t give a damn about the southeastern states of the US, paranoid! it is just an ad, one that represents what would have happened if the US stupid “manifest destiny” or “we want territory” would not have existed at all.

Erase this if you want… the world knows the truth. you are the ones living a lie.

  10. invar

Oh great – the Communists have come out to play.

Chavez has inspired the Marxists to get bold.

Oh poor americans who think like you, you don’t realise even if your capitalism is spreading all over people worldwide hate you.

We don’t care if the world hates us. We fed the world, clothed the world, rescued it from Nazism and Fascism, are the first there at any natural disaster or famine.

The world may well hate us.

But it hated Christ before us, so we are in good company.

The land of freedom? The land of hope? Europe is a land of freedom and hope.

Right. That’s why we have the highest immigration rate – both legal and illegal for the last 100 plus years. Europe is the land of freedom? Is that why everyone from Europe to Mexico comes to set up residence in the States?

Or is it just for the pizza?

Democracy at the US? Oh god people of this blog you really do live in a big fat lie that your media tells you..

True. The media has been lying to Americans for decades. We were never, nor intended to be a Democracy.

    Ever.

We were intended to be a Representative Republic – NOT a Democracy.

But of course now – thanks to knuckleheads like yourself who hate this country and can vote – we now have a Fascist Democracy.

In Mexico no one knows about an”aztlan reconquista” they don’t give a damn about the southeastern states of the US, paranoid!

Well that just makes you a plain liar now doesn’t it? We’ve seen the websites, marches and protests from Mexican nationals promoting the Atzlan movement of Reconquinista.

And you can rest your sorry arse about American manifest destiny. The folks who are zealous for manifest destiny today, are your local Jihadists – who have much of Europe outbred and ripe for conquest by Islam.

Well, in your defence, I can’t see any sign that show everybody that those territories were from México for 300 yaers. more than 150 years they have belonged to USA.

I don’t believe in open war for land, I believe in God, Our Lord Jesus who pacefully will make justice upon all peoples.

  13. Jorge

That territory was owned by Mexico before USA’s intervention… So Stop saying stupid things you gringos!!! And learn a little bit of History!!!

I’m not intend to get into this stupid issue. It’s not Mexican or American people’s problem… it’s goverment and history between countries.
Honestly haters in both ways… relax, there is no reason to adopt an extreme point of view.
Corrupted Mexican leaders sells back in time that part of the country to USA. So what? We still live our lives, trying to be better human beens.

If you guys remember, there was a lot of disturbs in mid west because a cartoonist guy in England make a joke about his god. Well it’s the same absurd sense to try to make a big dial for what a Russian Alcohol company did to sell his bottles in Mexico.

  26. that should be where the original people of the continent should be living, NATIVE people, the ones who were murdered by the cold-blooded assassins from BRITAIN who INVADED & commit GENOCIDE in what now is called USA, and the pigs who came to DESTROY the people an beautiful cultures of what now is MEXICO. Why do people from USA (wrongly and egocentricly called “Americans”) suffer from xenophoby? They are DESCENDANTS OF IMMIGRANTS!! That’s called hipocrecy. And yeah, Mexican people (or the MIXED EURO-INDIGENOUS population that now is) lost more than a half of their country, so what? it still is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, with a rich diversity of natural species and a delicious food. I HOPE A DAY WILL COME WHERE PEOPLE COME TO A LEVEL MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, AND SPIRITUAL, HENCE; A HUMAN LEVEL ABOVE THAT OF THE ACTUAL STUPIDITY AND MANIPULATION THE BIG MAJORITY LIVES IN. A DAY WHEN WE CAN SHARE AND ENJOY ALL TOGETHER, IN LOVE & WISDOM.

  28. alan

it’s so funny how you look the perfect world, that’s just another proof of the american pride, i think that’s good, it’s good love your country, the problem starts when you don’t see the reality, and wishes or not believed or not, mexico is taking back those states go to LA to San Diego To San francisco and sure’ you’ll see one mexican or two, and in LA and SD you’ll see more mexican than americans, you the gringos took those states because of the stupid of santa anna, but those states belong to mexico and that will be forever, you know that the goverment of one country does not always govern the people that’s what’s happening.
    hello from México.

  29. invar

The spirit of Sam Houston lives in the hearts of Americans if you want to be stupid and play that game again.

We remember what he did in 18 minutes.

Your patriarchal leaders signed those states and lands over in defeat, and they are and have been rightfully ours ever since they signed the Treaties of Velasco and Guadalupe Hidalgo respectively.

And they signed them over for money – which we paid.

So there was no TAKING of land, your forbears surrendered it for money and cessation of hostilities.

  30. alan

¿righfully? of course you the gringos think’s that every act of your goverment was and ir riightfully atack iraq was righfully hey people nobody saw osama in the 11/9 and only as a fact osama doesn´t live in iraq well,
Mexico allow some gringos to live there in Tejas, and after a few years you declared your independence and te stupid of santa anna betrayed Mexico only for that reason you could defeat Mexico, and the treath of guadalupe you writed and you didn’t pay for the states you pay to hide your imperialist intentions. that’s the true my friend, but wathever we got those states again your’re guest in your own country, so what’s the problem?
thanks for this little exchange of information. i’ll keep investigating about this little war.
but thanks to santa anna. ¬¬

I am speaking as a mexican 100% mexican. The mexican government lost the war, sold the land, and that’s it. The americans asked for something in return to stop the invasion. And the Government accepted. not the people. cause back then the people didn’t had much say in things, and I’m pretty sure that the only thing they wanted is food on their tables and clothes on their backs.

The only reason that there are so many mexicans in the united states right now is because of ourselves, the mexicans, WE have not been able to produce the wealth, the prosperity that americans do have. I bet that the people that leave their country and cross the border aren’t looking for a so called reconquista (I might dare to say reconquista of what. if there were like 8,000 mexicans when the states of the north decided to unite to the new formed republic in 1821, those are the only people that could ask for something out of the united states, but not millions of mexicans asking for something that isn’t really theirs cause they weren’t even alive when all of this happened, so what are they complaining about?)

ok, so if there is a so called reconquista movement, I disagree with those people, cause they should fight for their own rights, for not being discriminated against, for blending in into the american society, if they are already in the states, blend in. fight for your human rights and for the respect of the people through hard work, education, knowledge, humanitarian attitudes and service to the new country that has hold you in its arms. Cause the mexicans that are in southwestern mexico are there because they didn’t have oportunities in their beloved mexico. and there are severe problems with the mexican society and the way people think and act right here in mexico that are not helping the country do better.

In a perfect world mexicans would have more culture, more respect to other mexicans, they would clean their streets and organize their country. (and well starting by organizing their heads honestly). And would find ways to make things work for their own betterment.

I don’t know what to say to americans cause honestly, I am not the one to say anything to them. I will always ask for respect and tolerance. and show it. cause respect is obtained from actions, not from fear or hate. respect comes out of love.

americans are free to do whatever they want. they should focus sometimes more on tolerance, informing themselves on how people live and why they are the way they are. and really think twice before passing judgements on people. (that goes for everyone actually)

I love my american husband very much. and at his side I’d learned to appreciate the wonders of a country like the US, but also the parts that need to be worked on.
As well as mexico and it’s wonders and also everything that needs to be fixed. and no I do not live in the States. I stayed here to try to be a part of the solution.

    Greetings everyone. and peaceful thoughts😀

  32. invar

Immigrants to America are welcome if they become American and are part of the distinctive American culture.

To come into another country to work and live and obtain the benefits of the society – but enclave with your own kind and culture and refuse to become part of the host nation’s culture is an insult to the host country and can only be construed as an invasion.

Mexico has a fine and colorful culture, family-oriented and hard-working. Mexico has a problem with it’s corrupt feudal government system that has deprived their nation from achieving a first world status.

Instead of looking to their own failures, they come here – many illegally and blame us for their woes and plight – and think they can reconquinista and obtain the wealth and prosperity they think they deserve.

If that area on the map was given back to Mexico tomorrow, in five years, it would look like and be as impoverished and corrupt as the rest of Mexico.

  33. Roger

Mexico didnt sell those territories, the us invaded mexico and took over mexico city, and mexico didnt have other option than sign the guadalupe hidalgos treaty.

  34. v_gee

Invar, I like that last paragraph on your January 28th post. Very true.

“To come into another country to work and live and obtain the benefits of the society – but enclave with your own kind and culture and refuse to become part of the host nation’s culture is an insult to the host country and can only be construed as an invasion.”

Hmmm… after living for several year first in Puerto Vallarta and later in Los Cabos, I found a very large American expatriate community, many of those retired and many more working in different areas of the tourist industry. Yet, after years of living and/or working in Mexico, they enclave with their own kind and culture and don’t even speak the language. Would you consider that an insult? An invasion?

I see the exact same attitudes with Mexican communities in Southern California. After years of living there, many don’t speak the language. Just like the American immigrants into Mexico (and there are a lot of those, considering that the largest American expatriate community in the world lives throughout Mexico), they don’t want or need to blend in. Are they both wrong?

Probably not, if both cultures show due respect to each other and demonstrate tolerance. I say it’s within human nature to pursue what seems best for one and one’s family… migrations have been going on for millenia, especially within bordering communities.

Indeed for a blog allegedly inspired by the bible and the life of Jesus, it seem the most relevant of his teachings are forgotten. Who here can claim for himself that has learned to love his brother?
Has America not been from its very beginning multicultural? What are the stories and the backgrounds of the peoples that populated the USA? Disperse tribes roaming the wild virgin lands? Pilgrims, nothing but desperate outcasts of rejecting societies? The spaniards bringing about their desire for gold and love of the church? What to say about the handcuffed black man which silently was put to slavery? And amidst all this cultures and faces, languages and races, one decides to stand above all? Strange indeed. There is no wisdom in power but rather power in wisdom.
How can you buy or sell the sky, the warmth of the land? The idea is strange to us. If we do not own the freshness of the air and the sparkle of the water, how can you buy them?

The rivers of our brothers they quench our thirst. The rivers carry our canoes and feed our children. If we sell you our land, you must remember to teach your children that the rivers are our brothers, and yours, and you must henceforth give the rivers the kindness that you would give my brother. We know that the white man does not understand our ways. One portion of land is the same to him as the next, for he is a stranger who comes in the night and takes from the land whatever he needs. The Earth is not his brother, but his enemy and when he has conquered it, he moves on. He leaves his father’s graves behind, and he does not care. He kidnaps the Earth from his children, and he does not care.

  37. Anonymous

This we know – the Earth does not belong to man – man belongs to the Earth. This we know. All things are connected like the blood which unites one family. All things are connected.

Whatever befalls the Earth – befalls the sons of the Earth. Man did not weave the web of life – he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.

  38. invar

This blog does not subscribe to pagan earth-worship.

The earth did not make man.

    God did.

God did not make man for the earth.

    He made man for Himself.

The earth is ours to tend, and all things were placed in subjection of man on the earth.

You worship the creation instead of the creator.

Private property is a Godly birthright since the earth belongs to God and He placed it under man’s dominion. The earth and it’s property are not a communal attribute.

Perhaps you might wish to study Jesus’ parable in Matthew 20 a little deeper. A man is free to do with that which is his. Including buying or selling land.

Really I can’t even believe I am posting here… I wish the person who made the image of “in a perfect world” only created it as sarcasm, if not, it gives me real shame… I got no more to say.

  40. invar

    Why should it be sarcasm?

The Absolut folks were not being sarcastic.

They were appealing to the Reconquinista movement to market their vodka. As if drinking their vodka will help their wishes of an Absolut world come to fruition.

    So I have answered in-kind.

Appealing to the American patriotic movement, that perhaps marketing Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey will help us achieve our view of a ‘perfect world’.

Are you saying it’s okay to picture a Mexican takeover of the United States, but not okay to picture a conquest of Mexico by the same technique applauded for Absolut?

    If so – tough.

You have your view of an Absolut world – we have our view of a Perfect world.

  41. Aida

    Oh my God!

You really are stupid, aren’t you? You still think you are the center of the world, the “saviors” of the world! That’s what your media tells you, and you actually believe it, though the whole world hates you!

Now, let me just say: I have some really good friends in the United States (can’t call them “Americans”, because we are ALL americans in America, you know?), but they don’t think like you, and they aknowledge that all those territories with spanish names are ours. But let me tell you something: I wouldn’t care at all about these stolen states, if only we weren’t threatened the way we are nowadays by YOU in those very places.

Now you are doing the same thing in other countries. “Freedom in Irak, Afganistan, etc.”, you say, but your goverment just want some extra (rich) territories.

This kind of blogs just make me sick. Don’t be silly and make som consciusness of what you are doing. Don’t be a cancer to the world you are living in.

We saved it from Nazism and the Imperial Japanese.

    Did Mexico?

    No.

We took on the Soviet Empire. Did Mexico?

    No.

    We feed the world.

    Does Mexico?

    No.

We rush to aid those nations in disaster, does Mexico?

    No.

Listen, you idiots want to wage war to remove we American ‘threats’ and ‘cancer’ in the states you say are yours – then bring it.

    We’re waiting.

It will be the biggest mistake you people have ever made.

You know this is funny. I am a Mexican man and my wife is from the USA, we live in good ol’ Mexico and we have this kind of arguments from time to time but in the end what we always do is LOVE.
