Atheists Want God Booted From Inauguration

Perhaps it is fitting in a way, that Humanists and Atheists demand the Courts ban any mention of God at the Inauguration of Obama to the Presidency January 20th.  After all, why should The One, who has been hailed as messiah himself by his worshippers, share the stage with The Almighty God of the Universe?   He did not wish to share the stage with his Veep or family after he won the Nomination or the Election, so perhaps it is a sign that Obama Rules alone from day one – and there is scant little need for God when The One, will lower the ocean levels, reverse climate change and bring world peace by simply wishing it himself.

 

Atheist will attempt to boot God from inauguration

A well-known California atheist says he and 17 others, plus atheist and humanist organizations, will file suit Tuesday in D.C.’s District Court to strip all references to God and religion from President-elect Barack Obama’s January inauguration ceremony. Michael Newdow, of Sacramento, Calif., says he wants to remove the phrase “so help me God” from the oath of office, plus axe the invocation prayer from Pastor Rick Warren, already under fire from the left for his opposition to gay marriage.

According to Newdow, any reference to God or religion violates the Constitution.

“Equality is important to me,” Newdow told The Examiner. “We should show equal respects for all of our citizens, regardless of their race, gender or religion.”

The draft of the lawsuit contends: “By placing ‘so help me God’ in its oaths and sponsoring prayers to God, government is lending its power to one side of perhaps the greatest religious controversy: God’s existence or non-existence.”

Newdow has tried this before: he sued to remove religion from the 2001 and 2005 presidential inaugurations, but lost both times.

In 2005, U.S. District Judge John Bates denied his effort to obtain a preliminary injunction to keep the president from uttering the words ‘so help me God’ as he takes the oath of office.

Nonetheless, Newdow thinks his odds are good.

“It depends on if they decide to uphold the principles of the constitution or not,” Newdow told the Examiner. “If they do, they’re 100 percent.”

Prof. Ron Allen, a constitutional law expert at Northwestern University, disagrees.

“You can understand the impulse, it seems as though it’s a governmental activity imbued with religious symbols and a certain sect of religious symbols, Christian obviously, in particular,”Allen said. “No one thinks the government is establishing a church by the president saying ‘so help be God’ at his own initiative when taking the oath. I don’t think the courts will intervene.”

Modern-day liberals – or “progressives” as they more discreetly prefer – labor under an awkward misconception; namely, that there is anything remotely “progressive” about the fundamental canons of their blind, secular-humanist faith. In fact, today’s liberalism is largely a sanitized retread of an antiquated mythology – one that significantly predates the only truly progressive movement: biblical Christianity.

While visiting the Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg, Va., a few weeks back, I heard a troubling, albeit thought-provoking, sermon. Pastor John Mabray addressed the ancient Canaanite practice of Baal worship and, though he didn’t reveal it by name, connected the dots to its present-day progeny: liberalism. Baal, the half-bull, half-man god of fertility, was the focal point of pagan idolatry in Semitic Israel until God revealed His monotheistic nature to Judaism’s forebears.

In his sermon, Pastor Mabray illustrated that, although they’ve now assumed a more contemporary flair, the fundamentals of Baal worship remain alive and well today. The principal pillars of Baalism were child sacrifice, sexual immorality (both heterosexual and homosexual) and pantheism (reverence of creation over the Creator).

For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.  Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of  the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.  Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to⁾ the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.  – Romans 1: 21-24

Ritualistic Baal worship, in sum, looked a little like this: Adults would gather around the altar of Baal. Infants would then be burned alive as a sacrificial offering to the deity. Amid horrific screams and the stench of charred human flesh, congregants – men and women alike – would engage in bisexual orgies. The ritual of convenience was intended to produce economic prosperity by prompting Baal to bring rain for the fertility of “mother earth.”

The natural consequences of such behavior – pregnancy and childbirth – and the associated financial burdens of “unplanned parenthood” were easily offset. One could either choose to engage in homosexual conduct or – with child sacrifice available on demand – could simply take part in another fertility ceremony to “terminate” the unwanted child.

Modern liberalism deviates little from its ancient predecessor. While its macabre rituals have been sanitized with flowery and euphemistic terms of art, its core tenets and practices remain eerily similar. The worship of “fertility” has been replaced with worship of “reproductive freedom” or “choice.” Child sacrifice via burnt offering has been updated, ever so slightly, to become child sacrifice by way of abortion. The ritualistic promotion, practice and celebration of both heterosexual and homosexual immorality and promiscuity have been carefully whitewashed – yet wholeheartedly embraced – by the cults of radical feminism, militant “gay rights” and “comprehensive sex education.” And, the pantheistic worship of “mother earth” has been substituted – in name only – for radical environmentalism.

But it’s not just self-styled “progressives” or secular humanists who have adopted the fundamental pillars of Baalism. In these postmodern times, we’ve also been graced, regrettably, by the advent of counter-biblical “emergent Christianity” or “quasi-Christianity,” as I prefer to call it.

This is merely liberalism all dolled up and gratuitously stamped “Christian.” It’s a way for left-wing ideologues to have their “religion” cake and eat it too. Under the guise of “social justice,” its adherents often support – or at least rationalize – the same pro-homosexual, pro-abortion and radical environmental policies pushed by the modern-day Baal worshiper.

Though the “Christian left” represent what is arguably a negligible minority within larger Christianity, the liberal media have, nonetheless, embraced their cause and seized upon their popularity among elites as evidence that the so-called “Christian right” (read: biblical Christianity) is losing influence – that Christianity is, somehow, “catching up with the times.”

Because emergent Christianity fails the authenticity test whenever subjected to even the most perfunctory biblical scrutiny, I suspect it will eventually go – for the most part – the way of the pet rock or the Macarena. But this does not absolve leaders within the evangelical community from a duty to call leaders of this counter-biblical revolution on their heresy. It’s not a matter of right versus left; it’s a matter of right versus wrong – of biblical versus non-biblical.

Nonetheless, the aforementioned pillars of postmodern Baalism – abortion, sexual relativism and radical environmentalism – will almost certainly make rapid headway over the next four to eight years, with or without help from the Christian left. The gods of liberalism have a new high priest in Barack Obama, and enjoy many devout followers in the Democratic-controlled Congress, liberal media and halls of academia.

Both Obama’s social agenda and that of the 111th Congress are rife with unfettered pro-abortion, freedom-chilling, pro-homosexual and power-grabbing environmentalist objectives. The same kind of “hope, action and change,” I suppose, that was swallowed up by the Baalist Canaanites of old.

So, today’s liberalism is really just a very old book with a shiny new cover. A philosophy rooted in ancient pagan traditions, of which there is naught to be proud.

There’s “nothing new under the sun,” indeed.

The Republican Party Needs to Be Served Divorce Papers

Colin Powell’s latest rant against Conservatives and John McCain’s dismissal of support for a Sarah Palin Presidential run in 2012 while scolding the RNC for criticizing Obama, serve to remind us that the Moderates and Mavericks that hold the reins of power in the Republican Party have made it abundantly clear to anyone with a modicum of common sense: Conservatives are loathed and hated by the very party they are politically married to.  They lecture us against listening to those preaching a Conservative message, the equivalent of an intolerant secular husband refusing to allow his religious wife to go to church because he doesn’t like their doctrines.

Powell’s rant against Conservatives and their ideology, including suggesting that Rush Limbaugh be expunged from the GOP on CNN is particularly instructive of the abuse Conservatives have endured for years.  This from the man who lectures Republicans on the virtues of abandoning Conservative values for liberal Democrat ideas to win elections, and then endorses and votes for Obama?

With Republicans like that, who needs Democrats?  

Does the word ‘traitor’ to the principles the GOP was supposed to have even cross anyone’s mind?  How about ‘adulterer’?

No, as always Conservatives will put on extra justification make-up and pretend they slipped and fell in order to convince themselves that they deserve the treatment because they listen to talk radio or are too outspoken on certain social issues that are ‘out of step’ with the mainstream.

Conservatives have a serious if not fatal case of Battered Housewife syndrome.

Abused, neglected, beaten and discarded, Conservatives always crawl back into bed with the GOP because they think there is nowhere else to go.

For years, the GOP Bluebloods, D.C. Elites, and self-proclaimed “moderate” husbands of the GOP have been engaged in habitual adultery, battery and domestic violence against Conservatives, who have been a doting and faithful wife of the Republican Party.

They treat her with indifference, scorn, callousness, contempt and condescension except when he needs her to satisfy his urge to win elections.  When they lose – he blames her for the failure, notwithstanding the fact that his whoredom is well known by all.  Due the lack of stiff resolve and conservative principles that would satisfy both husband and wife, the adulterous GOP thinks the ideological prescription of Liberal Democrats is the Viagra needed to perform better in elections.  He is beset with a mid-life crisis of conscience, adopting the chic and hip to better maintain an image of political open-mindedness in the eyes of the Beautiful People in whom he seeks approval. He is aroused only by adulterous affairs with the prostitutes of Socialism and trysts with big government statists that better serve as his Geishas that he parades in front of the fickle debutante Media in whom he has his largest lust to bed.

Meanwhile the Conservative wife – has been faithful to her party to whom she married.  Always looking to trust; always to hope; always to respect the one she has ideologically pledged herself to.  She toils for him and the cause he says he serves.  She is up early and working the grassroots.  She serves his needs by sacrificing time and money for him.  She wears his ring with undying affection and lives her political life as a Proverbs 31 Woman. She has eagerly forgiven past mistakes and seeks to guide her chosen husband to the path of success. 

Still, he abuses her. 

He is a party, that assumes the doting housewife has nowhere else to go and whom can be enticed into forgiveness with empty promises, half-hearted repentance and a few cheap gifts thrown her way when he is caught in the act of betrayal.  He blows her a kiss while dialing the number to his many Liberal Leftist lovers in the media and the Democrat party.  He is seen cavorting with the mistresses that hate his wife and work tirelessly to destroy the marriage.  

He makes it publicly known that he dislikes his wife, and merely tolerates her.  When she protests, the GOP husband slaps the wife and admonishes her to shut up and be silent and deal with the reality.

In her tears and her devotion, the Conservative wife tries to change him from within.  But a womanizer does not change.  He gets more clever in deceit.   In desperation to avoid being tossed into the cold, she seeks to know what she must do to save the marriage and the answer is given boldly: become a whore and swing from bed to bed in whatever trysts her political husband desires.

Clearly there are irreconcilable differences between Conservatives and the Republican leadership.  It is time for the Conservative wife to divorce her cheating, unfaithful husband – who long ago abandoned the principles that made the wife fall in love with the party in the first place.

It is time for Conservatives to leave this adulterous relationship and become her own party.

Contrary to what the adulterous husband of the GOP will frighten her into believing, Conservatives will become healthy and successful on our own, with our principles intact.  In short, the Battered Wife must see the whoredom of her former spouse and recognize that the abuse heaped upon her will never cease under his roof.  She must leave and establish herself if she has any hope of influencing and saving the country.  Yes, I said country because the GOP adultery with Socialism affects more than just her own household – like all sin, it affects their children and the whole nation at large.

If the sanctity of the Conservative ideology has any real meaning, then it must be depart the scum that would otherwise continue to tarnish it.  Conservatism must become it’s own party.

While many 3rd party suitors will attempt to woo her – the former battered wife has no need to date – she has all the power and ability to make her own way and make her standards of liberty, regard and respect for God, less government, free market Capitalism, strong defense, personal property and personal responsibility the foundation stones upon which her new home will stand.

It is time for Conservatives to establish their own party, and let the GOP go the way of the Whigs, or become folded into the Democrat party by which in all practicality it already is.

If the Battered Wife Conservative continues to allow themselves to be frightened and talked into staying in this abusive relationship, eventually the abusive husband will irreparably harm if not kill her altogether.

It is far past the time to save our ideology and serve our cheating jerk of a party with divorce papers and walk away.  The GOP brand is forever sullied and contaminated with the stink of it’s adulterous affairs with the Left.  The Party left us a long time ago while we remained faithful. –  Before God, we are justified in this divorce because of the hardness of the hearts of those who slept around with the Left and pretended to be our husbands while robbing us all of liberty.

After decades of leftist efforts to convert America’s representative republic into a pure democracy, where 51% can take away the rights of the other 49% for the greater common good, we find our nation on the verge of political and economic collapse.

It was the dream of men like Vladimir Lenin and Karl Marx, not Thomas Jefferson or John Adams, that one day the proletariat would control the nation’s productivity in the United States, replacing evil capitalism with secular socialism and individual rights with a greater good of communal interests.   

In 2008, the left gained full control of all three branches of the federal government and America may never again live in freedom. This column takes a look at how it happened and why average red-blooded Americans are no match for the collective power of the proletariat movement.

The Proletariat

Karl Marxist defines the proletariat as a class of workers, esp. industrial wage earners, who do not possess capital or property and must sell their labor to survive. Marx saw no difference between productive skilled labor and unskilled or unproductive workers. The left doesn’t even make any distinction between legal citizen and illegal invader.

Many modern Americans have been indoctrinated in the ideas of socialists and communists, to believe as Marx states here, that all men are nothing but equal, a mere “carcass” much of the time, with no individual attributes at all.

It is on this basis that all men are entitled to “equal outcomes” despite “unparalleled individual productivities.” In communism and socialism, the individual is nothing and therefore, means nothing.

It is the common interests of “equal outcome” that is to prevail over the individual rights inherent with individual freedom. In fact, individual freedom is wholly at odds with the “greater common good.”

Even early 19^th century Americans like Roger Baldwin, founder of the ACLU, understood this.

Almost one hundred years later, most Americans have been taught to believe that Baldwin and his American Civil Liberties Union are protectors of individual rights. But Baldwin himself was quite clear about his agenda in 1920, when he founded the ACLU…

And unite they have, in America and beyond. Contrary to proletariat reporting in the left-wing American press, the proletariat is the biggest player in American politics today. Left-wing news rooms are fast to report special interest lobbying efforts of every private capitalist enterprise in the nation. But they dare not tell the true story of who really controls Washington DC today.

A list of the Top 20 politically active organizations in America reveals the truth.

From 1998 thru 2008, the top twenty political donor organizations gave over $558,963,408. $326,504,578 of that money came from twelve of the top twenty donors, all of which are laborunions, and of course 95.7% of those funds were given to Democrat politicians.

Of the top twenty totals, 77% was given to Democrats, with only 21.8% being given toRepublicans.

We all know that money is power in politics. But most Americans are of the opinion that it is big corporate money that is currently controlling Washington DC and they believe this because this is what they have been told by Democrats, the labor unions who fund them and the press who does their public propaganda bidding.

Why We Can’t Trust the American Press

The 12^th largest political donor in America is an organization called Communications Workers of America. Communications Workers of America represents 740,000 workers in telecommunications, broadcasting, journalism and other fields. The union’s members work for companies such as AT&T, General Electric and many of the nation’s top newspapers and broadcast stations. (Reported by the Center for Responsive Politics)

In other words, the American press is represented by the Communications Workers of America Union, which has invested $25,785,989 in American politics over the last ten years, 99% of it given to Democrats.

Why We Can’t Trust Washington DC

As we watch Washington DC rush the grab control of the banking and mortgage industries, the energy industry, the auto industry and the health industry, keep in mind the belief system at the root of that movement…

Why Americans are Losing Issue after Issue

More than 70% of Americans oppose abortion on demand, yet we have abortion on demand. That’s because the 70% who support life only spent $4,165,862 over the last ten years, 96.8% of it with Republicans, while pro-death supporters spent $11,567,956 during the same period, 81% of it with Democrats. He with the gold makes the rules…

Education and academia tilt hard left because educators have given $143,468,826 over the last ten years, over 70% of it to Democrats.

The justice system tilts hard left because lawyers have given $791,535,298 over the last ten years to make sure that Democrats, with whom they invested 72.7% of those funds, remain in ultimate power.

The two most powerful groups in America today are the press and Hollywood. Combined, they influence public opinion on every major issue in the country. Hollywood’s rich and famous have been decidedly left ever since Joe McCarthy warned of a communist movement in Hollywood many years ago.

Today, not only does Hollywood produce a steady diet of anti-American drivel full of foul mouthed secular socialist indoctrination, found even in many kids’ cartoons now, they fund the huge leftist juggernaut in control of Washington.

Over the last ten years alone, the TV/Movie/Music industry has invested $197,330,210 in politics, 70% of it with Democrats again.

Yet Americans can’t figure out how they are losing their nation to leftists, let alone figure out what to do about it.

Americans Aren’t Keeping Pace with Leftists

Despite all indications including the insane outcome of the 2008 election, I believe that we (Americans who still believe in American principles and values) still outnumber them, the far left proletariat movement behind today’s secular socialist juggernaut.

But we are certainly not outspending them and as a result, he willing to spend the gold is winning on every front.

Americas Silent Consent

In politics, money moves agendas, he willing to invest the gold will make the rules and the squeaky wheel will get the oil.

On issue after issue, Americans are getting their clocks cleaned by a lesser but more committed enemy. Americans still think their vote is their only voice while leftists will spend their last private penny in pursuit of public access to your private earnings and assets.

70% of Americans oppose everything the left and the incoming Obama campaign stand for, according to all available polling data. But the 30% who support the current secular socialist movement spend five times more in pursuit of their agenda than the balance of America is willing to spend to defend their nation under siege.

In short, America‘s Silence is its Consent

It is never the biggest, strongest, smartest man in the battle who wins the fright. It is the man most committed to winning who wins, every time.

At present, 30% of Americans are winning by outspending the other 70% five to one.

While it is true that some 52% of voters supported Obama and Democrats in the 2008 election, it is also true that almost 50% of legal voters didn’t bother to vote at all. It is also true that half of that 52%, knew what they were supporting, while the other half simply followed leftists in the press, academia and Hollywood, and are hoping they got it right.

They got it wrong… and as will soon become apparent to all Americans, at great expense.

A Ray of Hope

Americans have gotten it right on only one issue of late. We still have Second Amendment rights today and that is because Americans have spent $13,321,905 to keep those rights, 89.3% of it with Republicans, while leftists have spent only $986,147 to end Second Amendment rights, 95.5% of it with Democrats.

When it comes to their guns, Americans dig deep and win. When Americans get equally serious about all of the other issues, they will dig deep and win those too. Until then, their silence will be their consent….

Watch what you wish for! You voted for them. Now what will you do with them? 

 

America Is Going Down By The Head

While I agree with the majority sentiments of this author, what is more disturbing to me – is the complete clueless understanding by most Americans that these ‘bailouts’ are rescues that THEY are going to have to pay for!  There is little understanding or concern that what these “bailouts” really are – is the imposition of Mussolini-style government Fascism; where government runs, controls and otherwise manages industry in America.

What that means folks is that Capitalism is in all practicality DEAD IN AMERICA.

It means we are no longer a Representative Republic, but a Fascist Democracy – and having achieved this under a Republican Administration that has essentially greased the pan for the incoming Marxist Administration of total tyranny and dictatorship by the cooperation of the One and his Politburo in Congress.

The adoption of the policy that this industry or that institution is “too big to fail” ensures that the more important and bigger issue of liberty and freedom in America – must fail in order to nationalize the entire country.  A desperate people will surrender almost anything for the mere promise of bread.

Even if it means their liberty.

Americans should take a good look at Argentina’s collapse – because I believe this is our near-term future.

America Is Going Down

Today I believe America is about to go down financially.  Some reasons for this conclusion are the financial crisis, bailouts, increased government spending, belief in a global economy and both parties belief in a one world government.

When we were first discussing the credit crisis and the bailouts I contacted a financial expert who said, “I cannot understand why the President has insisted upon a $700 Billion dollar bailout to save the economy.  Call me back in a few days and I will have an answer for you.”  When I called back he said, “I still do not know what to make of this so-called credit crisis.  It just does not make any sense to me.”

When a financial expert had no idea why we were going through a credit crisis or a bailout, I began to dig for answers.  Then a friend pointed out while Henry Paulson was on CNN arguing for the bailout of Citigroup, one advertiser was asking people to apply for low-cost credit cards.  My banks had told me they would loan us money whenever we wanted it.  I wondered if the credit crisis was real.

According to Fox News the American people were overwhelmingly against the bailouts.  Calls to Congress ran 100-1 against the bailouts.  Still Congress approved a $700 Billion dollar bailout package.  An additional $1 Trillion dollar bailout is being considered by Congress, which means $1,700,000,000,000 of your tax dollars could be given away.

Why have we just given our government so much power over us?

 

In the last eight years government spending doubled our national debt from $5.7 Trillion to $11.4 Trillion dollars.  President Bush met with Mexico and Canada several times to discuss creating a North American Union and wiping out the U.S. Borders under the Security Prosperity Partnership of America.

The President’s meeting with Canada and Mexico, government bailouts and government spending during the last eight years made me wonder if our government was trying to spend the U.S. Dollar out of existence.

Articles about the Security Prosperity Partnership of America say President Bush is pushing us toward a North American Union, eventually leading to a one world government.  Why is our President discussing this?

Then my attention was called to the Council on Foreign Relations and their strong desire to see a one world government.   In doing my research, I found both Democrats and Republicans were nearly all members of the CRF, a group founded in 1921. Why do so many of our politicians, both Democrats and Republicans belong to this group?

Maybe Democrats and Republicans argue just so they can play the political game and to hide their true feelings.  This explains why they belong to a group whose focus is a one world government.

All of this leads to one conclusion, America as we know it, is going down. 

America is almost broke and will likely default on loans secured from foreign countries by Spring.  If we default on these loans nobody will lend America any money because our government bonds, our collateral, will be worthless.  The dollar would also become worthless and would then be replaced with the North American Union Amero.

Then our government will start over with a new currency called the Amero and a new government called the North American Union.  Our government’s reckless spending is making the dollar, our Constitution and the principles of America totally meaningless.  What will happen to the American public?

The blame for this mess rests with our Congress who mismanaged the national debt, spent way too much money, desires a one world government and enacted legislation which required banks to make undesirable loans.  Some of our Congressmen passed this legislation for their own personal gain and should be prosecuted.

This makes sense to me and with the huge bailouts, it will come to pass.  My advice to you is to change your assets from being based on the U.S. dollar to another government’s currency.  God help us.

Everyone Loves A Bribe, and Runs After Gifts

I’m worried about my country.

The corruption in our political life is just massive. And I have no doubt that it is just as bad in the business world. Now, you might want to respond that it has always been like this, that the world is always a corrupt place, and what do you expect, etc. But, I’m sorry, I just can’t buy that. In my view, there is more blatant corruption in the body politic than I can ever remember in my lifetime.

The latest and most egregious example is the sickening spectacle of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich trying to literally sell Barack Obama’s now vacant U.S. Senate seat to the highest bidder. Blagojevich has been under Federal investigation for at least three years for alleged hiring fraud, and U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald read profanity-laced quotes from the Governor’s phone conversations that left no doubt about the his corruption. “I’ve got this thing (the opportunity to appoint a Democrat Senator to take Obama’s place) and it’s (expletive) golden, and I’m just not giving it up for (expletive) nothing. I’m not gonna do it.” The FBI’s evidence indicated that overheard phone conversations revealed that what the Governor had in mind was selling the Senate seat for half-million or million dollar campaign contributions, or $250-300,000 jobs for himself, or comparable paying jobs for his real estate agent wife, Patti. In political parlance, it’s called “pay to play.” If you want to have influence in Illinois politics, you have to cough up the cash. “I want to make money,” said the Governor, whose salary is $177,412. Apparently, that’s not money as far as he’s concerned.

The authorities making the announcement of the arrest to the press said that Blagojevich was hoping to raise $2.5 million by the end of the year, and had decided to speed up his “crime spree” before a state anti-corruption law takes effect on January 1.  

I have written several times this year about the corruption of Chicago politics, which in the entire U.S. comes in second only to Louisiana politics. But this latest example is so brazen, so openly and defiantly corrupt that it boggles the mind. Ironically, Blagojevich had campaigned for the Governor’s office back in 2002 on a platform of cleaning up the corruption of his predecessor, George Ryan, who is serving a six year prison sentence for graft. His approval rating with the voters had become a horrendous 13 percent, but undeterred by this, he had talked of rehabilitating his image by appointing himself to the vacant Senate seat, and even had the consummate gall to talk about running for President in 2116. The only small bump in his road is a set of Federal charges of conspiracy to commit fraud and solicitation to commit bribery, which carry maximum prison penalties of 20 years and 10 years respectively.

His Chief of Staff, John Harris, was arrested with Blagojevich, and charged with taking part in the Governor’s schemes. Meanwhile, all Illinois politicians are running away from the Governor like rats fleeing the light. Cries of “resign, resign” are being heard in the land of Lincoln, while U.S. District Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald avowed that this corruption would make Lincoln “roll in his grave.”

Emmanuel Rahm, Obama’s Chief of Staff, had said earlier in response to a reporter’s question, that Obama had talked with Governor Blagojevich about possible appointees to the Senate seat, but after Obama said yesterday that he had had no contact with the Governor lately, Rahm quickly backtracked and said that he had been mistaken in what he had said. Yeah, right.

Do I think that Obama is involved in any of Blagojevich’s corruption? Probably not. He would have had to have been stupid beyond belief to have allowed himself to be tainted with the open corruption of a man known by everybody to be under Federal investigation. But, as I have said before in these commentaries, you cannot possibly have risen to the level that Obama achieved in Illinois politics without having played the corruption game to a certain extent, at least. I suspect that there is a lot of dirty linen in Obama’s closet (just as there was in Bill Clinton’s from his Arkansas Governor days), but whether it will ever see the light of day is doubtful.

Meanwhile, Governor Blagojevich gave no indication that he was about to resign, or even thinking about it. He dispatched his spokesperson, Kelley Quinn, to announce that he was going about “business as usual.” Since his usual business seems to have been corruption, I suppose we should infer from that he’s still trying to sell favors, before the Feds put him away in the slammer.

In today’s Cape Cod paper it is reported that new charges have been brought in an ongoing Federal probe of corruption at the Massachusetts Statehouse and Boston’s City Hall. Massachusetts State Senator Diane Wilkerson has pleaded not guilty to a new indictment of eight counts of attempted extortion and one count of conspiracy. In October, after an eighteen-month investigation by the FBI, she was arrested and charged with taking up to $23,000 in bribes to help the Roxbury nightclub Dejavu get a liquor license. The Bureau released a video tape of Wilkerson stuffing into her bra a wad of bribery money that she had just been handed by an FBI informant.

In the same paper I read today that Providence, RI, Mayor David Cicilline’s brother had written a bad check to the city for $75,000 on behalf of a client who owed tax money. Though the Mayor has not been charged with anything, everyone in New England knows perfectly well that Providence politics has been quite dirty as long as anyone can remember – controlled in the past for many, many years by the Mob. Perhaps it still is.

Charlie Rangel (Democrat-NY), the embattled Chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee is facing mounting allegations of corruption. The House Ethics Committee, which is usually passive and has to be goaded into action, has announced recently that it is broadening its investigation into the Congressman’s dealings. These have  included, among other things, using Congressional letterhead to solicit money for his Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service at City College of New York, failure to pay taxes or disclose income from a $75,000 Dominican villa on which he had an interest-free mortgage, his use of rent-controlled apartments in Harlem at sub-standard rates, and the possibility that he helped to preserve a lucrative off-shore tax loophole for an oil drilling executive.

It isn’t only Democrats. Corruption and rottenness are equal opportunity employers. U.S. Senator Larry Craig (Republican-MN) has lost his attempt to withdraw his 2007 guilty plea to disorderly conduct after being arrested in a sting operation at a St. Paul International Airport men’s room. Sgt. Dave Karsnia, the arresting officer, indicated that Craig was attempting to solicit a homosexual encounter. Craig claims that he is innocent, and considering an appeal. But, it appears likely that his original plea was the truth.

It is worthy of note that the Boston Phoenix and other blogs have been keeping track of the 2008 incidents of corruption that involve Democrats. Apparently, the count is now in the mid 90’s, and could possible break 100 before year’s end.

However, the fact that so many corrupt Democrats are being exposed is certainly not anything that Republicans or conservatives can rejoice in, even though the exposure involving Democrats probably outnumbers Republican miscreants ten to one.

For myself, I cannot even muster up anger about it – I find myself filled with a great sadness. Our once proud nation has sunk to a new low in corruption throughout the political process, it seems to me.

What shall we say to all of this? I think these passages of Holy Scripture speak very plainly to our situation: Amos 5:12-16 and Isaiah 1:21-28:

“For I know how many are your transgressions, and how great are your sins – you who afflict the righteous, who take a bribe, and turn aside the needy in the gate. Therefore he who is prudent will keep silent in such a time, for it is an evil time. Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said. Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

“How the faithful city has become a whore, she who was full of justice! Righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers. Your silver has become dross, your best wine mixed with water. Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe and runs after gifts. They do not bring justice to the fatherless, and the widow’s cause does not come to them. Therefore the Lord declares, the Lord of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel: ‘Ah, I will get relief from my enemies and avenge myself on my foes. I will turn my hand against you and will smelt away your dross as with lye and remove all your alloy. And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.’ Zion shall be redeemed by justice, and those in her who repent, by righteousness. But rebels and sinners shall be broken together, and those who forsake the Lord shall be consumed.”

A few comments on these passages: In the Amos passage, the verse on the prudent keeping silence does not mean that we Christians are not to speak out about the corruption and evil of our time. What it means, in my view, is that we must cease all boastful, proud, vain, self-righteous, frivolous or careless speech, and watch very carefully what claims we make about ourselves. Further, to hate evil, love good, and work to establish justice in all our dealings (and for others) should be the focus of our lives, as we seek to serve the Lord Jesus. It is an evil time, and we must be sure that we are using our days wisely in the service of God’s Kingdom.

The Isaiah passage speaks strongly to the issue of corruption – that is what the verse about the silver having become dross and the wine having been mixed with water means. The precious metal has become impure, and the pure wine has become diluted. There is no moral purity.

But, the Lord promises that He will purify, when He says that He will “smelt away your dross as with lye and remove all your alloy.” Note that removing alloy is done by fire, which is not a pleasant experience to go through. Yet, I believe that is what has started to happen to America. God is determined to purify American society, and I believe that the exposure of these recent scandals is but the beginnings. There will be more to come, and it will reach into other areas of our society beyond politics.

The redeeming grace in it all, and what brings me hope, is that it is the Lord who is in charge of the whole process. A just and merciful God is wielding the broom, and for that I am thankful.

And lastly, there is a promise that there will be an end to it, an end that will bring justice and righteousness: “Zion shall be redeemed by justice, and those in her who repent, by righteousness.” Notice that His righteousness will redeem “those who repent,” so let us be sure that we come to repentance about any sins in our own lives that we read about in the newspapers or hear about on TV.

No holiday in the world compares to Thanksgiving. Material traditions aside, this important day gives us cause to unite not just as families but as a nation, bowed humbly in gratitude to God for His abundant mercy and bounteous grace to our people.

President Abraham Lincoln, on October 3, 1863, formalized this blessed holiday in the midst of Civil War, “as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens.” The great purpose of this day was, Lincoln intended, a call for “humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience.” We were then a nation that had been tolerant of a great iniquity: deniers of equal protection to an entire class of human beings in their God-given, unalienable rights to the Blessings of Liberty. And, Lincoln deeply believed, for that iniquity America was being brought low. As Lincoln succinctly stated in his last inaugural address on March 4, 1865, when he made direct reference to the ninth verse of the 19th Psalm:

“Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman’s 250 years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn by the lash shall be paid by another drawn by the sword, as was said 3,000 years ago, so still it must be said: ‘The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.'” 

Now, fast-forward to November 27, 2008, and Barack Obama’s “Thanksgiving Address.” Perhaps it would be more apt to call it Barack Obama’s “Audacity of Godless Pomposity Address,” in light of the fact that George W. Bush is still the President of the United States, that the Electoral College has not yet met and elected Obama, and that doubts still swirl around whether he can even produce the proof that he meets the absolute constitutional requirement that a President be a natural born citizen. Every American should consider it an affront that this “address” was even delivered, but more importantly, they should rail at its morally vacant content.

While Barack Obama had the gall to partially, and therefore dishonestly and cynically, quote Lincoln, NO TRACE of any reference to Almighty God, our utter dependence on Him, or the pressing need for national repentance for our national sins were included. Instead, all thanks, all possibility of hope for the future, is to be directed toward Obama himself. Not “humble penitence” towards the One Who made us, but boundless faith in Barack Obama: a man who supports infanticide, holds a Marxist view of government, and has no regard for America’s founding principles. 

On “Super Tuesday,” February 5, 2008, Barack Obama gave a speech in Chicago, in which he repeatedly uttered the sophomoric line, “Yes, we can!” This silly humanistic slogan, which became his political mantra, is the polar opposite of Lincoln’s attitude and understanding. Lincoln, like the founding generation before him, knew that apart from God we, individually and as a nation, have nothing. No freedom. No security. No material prosperity. Nothing. “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” (Psalm 127:1)

Obama spoke in high-flown tones, saying, “We are the hope of the future … we know what we have seen and what we believe – that what began as a whisper has now swelled to a chorus that cannot be ignored; that will not be deterred; that will ring out across this land as a hymn that will heal this nation, repair this world, and make this time different than all the rest – Yes. We. Can.”

Barack Obama intends that America be reduced to SINGING HYMNS TO OURSELVES.

On the night of November 4th, on election night, he summed up his vacuous campaign by claiming that the phrase “Yes we can” is a “timeless creed,” one “that sums up the spirit” of the American people. But, it is not. It is the attitudinal starting-place of those who arrogantly believe that might makes right, whose ultimate impulse is always to rule over others by force. Without allegiance to the true and living God, there is no restraint.

Barack Obama’s narcissistic and humanistic ideology is akin to the godless doctrines of the regimes that destroyed hundreds of millions of lives over the last century, but it bears no resemblance to the true American creed, as spelled out in the Declaration of Independence:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men…”

It’s hard to see how he could be more wrong about what America is, and what it must be if it is to survive in liberty, security and prosperity.

As a nation countenancing a new and even more heinous evil than Abraham Lincoln confronted—abortion—how can we possibly avoid an even more severe punishment than Lincoln’s generation suffered? How will we as a people survive under a leadership that not only turns away from acknowledging God, but stiffens its neck and refuses to obey Him in the simplest ways, most particularly in how we treat the weakest and most helpless among us?

The days ahead will be dangerous and trying ones. But in the end, it is God Himself, not Barack Obama, who will be the determinant of our nation’s fate, based on the attitude and the actions of the people as a whole. What role will you as an individual play in determining that fate? 

No hope is to be found in Barack Obama, bereft as he is of the knowledge of God or of our nation’s true heritage, history, and principles. But don’t ever forget that there is great hope in the LORD, and in the American people as a whole, when we get our hearts right and our minds set on those things which truly endure. When the American people stand up united in a truly righteous cause, with God’s blessing upon them, there is no mightier force on earth. 

If we will simply find the courage to do what God requires, we will once again have reason to offer up much Thanksgiving. And then our children and grandchildren will thank us too, just as we are grateful to our forebears who trusted God and paid the price of self-sacrifice for liberty.

As our government continues to prove themselves unworthy of governance in our “land of the free” through their disobedience of its Constitutional limitations, I will continue to become more vocal about not only the unalienable right to Petition for Redress of Grievances, guaranteed by the First Amendment, but also the unalienable right to bear arms, guaranteed by the Second Amendment.

 

The logic is fairly simple.  As far as I understand, We the People have 3 ways of control over our government:

1. The Ballot Box — as demonstrated, this has become corrupted through duopoly partisan ballot access legislation and the plurality voting system;

2. Petitioning for Redress of Grievances via the LAW — by its own example, the Federal Government, via the Judicial, Legislative, and Executive branches, have decided it does not have to obey the LAW, and because the majority of Americans live in fear of their government, they have not the will to withhold ALL monies claimed due to the State (which is the founders’ advice for peaceful resolution to tyranny);

3. Physical Resistance — when all else fails and tyranny oppresses a free people, the last resort is physical resistance.  This is why the founders placed the guarantor of the unalienable right of a free person to bear arms as #2 in the Bill of Rights, directly after the ‘accountability clause’ of the 1st Amendment.

Knowing that control provisions #1 & #2 over the State are both failing due to blatant corruption, the only other recourse to tyranny besides running (and to where?) is to defend our personal liberties through armed resistance.

I hope and pray it never comes to that, but at this point in this state of tyranny where the State can pretty much do whatever it wills with NO consideration for the LAW, then how long before it all comes tumbling down?

I am certainly not going to rely on our Police & Sheriff departments to protect myself and my loved ones — it is up to We the People to maintain our freedom!

Apparently the mayor of Seattle disagrees with this concept, as he attempts to reduce violence through additional gun control.

“Following a shooting that injured three people at the Folklife Festival on May 24, Mayor Greg Nickels directed all City of Seattle departments to study the adoption and enforcement of policies, rules and contractual agreements which would prohibit the possession of dangerous weapons, including firearms on city property.”

Has it escaped the Seattle Mayor’s office attention about the recent terrorist attacks on unarmed civilians in India?  I understand that government authorities are confused about the solution to thwart such random acts of terrorism.

CONFUSED?  What’s there to be confused about?  The answer is SIMPLE!

If we as concerned humans desire less acts of terrorism, and to decrease criminal violence in general, ARM THE CITIZENSHIP!

It’s really quite a simple equation.  The facts are clear:  the less the citizenship is armed, the more criminal activity persists.

Atheist group suing the state of Kentucky over a law proclaiming God’s all-important role in protecting the state from homeland security threats.

Idiocy knows no boundaries in this day and age of terror, corruption and tyranny.  While the world reels in the aftermath of yet ANOTHER Jihadist massacre, this time in India over the Thanksgiving weekend – the Secularists and Atheists in this country are busy waging their own stupid jihad – against God, and any reference of Him in conjunction with our safety and security.

Of course the good people of Kentucky would quickly shout down this tiny and miserably angry group of miscreants that have nothing better to do but strip free exercise from Americans, which is why these cretins always run to the courts to have their religion crammed down our throats by having our right to acknowledge God stripped from us by the pound of a gavel.

One must wonder why God in His benevolent mercy, keeps the hedge of protection up around us when the systematic effort to remove God from our lives, our practice and our acknowledgment goes on unabated and relatively unchallenged by the church and the faith themselves.

At some point, Proverbs 1 is going to play out here on this soil again, and in that day – God will have every right to laugh and mock us in the day of our terror and calamity and refuse to hear our petitions for aid.

Who is going to stand up for God and oust these meddling tyrants from interfering with our rights to worship and acknowledge God in all our ways and institutions?

Does God Run Homeland Security?

(AP) A group of atheists filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to remove part of a state anti-terrorism law that requires Kentucky’s Office of Homeland Security to acknowledge it can’t keep the state safe without God’s help. 

American Atheists Inc. sued in state court over a 2002 law that stresses God’s role in Kentucky’s homeland security alongside the military, police agencies and health departments. 

Of particular concern is a 2006 clause requiring the Office of Homeland Security to post a plaque that says the safety and security of the state “cannot be achieved apart from reliance upon almighty God” and to stress that fact through training and educational materials. 

The plaque, posted at the Kentucky Emergency Operations Center in Frankfort, includes the Bible verse: “Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” 

“It is one of the most egregiously and breathtakingly unconstitutional actions by a state legislature that I’ve ever seen,” said Edwin F. Kagin, national legal director of Parsippany, N.J.-based American Atheists Inc. The group claims the law violates both the state and U.S. constitutions. 

But Democratic state Rep. Tom Riner, a Baptist minister from Louisville, said he considers it vitally important to acknowledge God’s role in protecting Kentucky and the nation. 

“No government by itself can guarantee perfect security,” Riner said. “There will always be this opposition to the acknowledgment of divine providence, but this is a foundational understanding of what America is.” 

Kentucky has been at the center of a series of legal battles involving religious issues in recent years, most involving displays of the Ten Commandments in public buildings. One case went to the U.S. Supreme Court, which ruled in 2005 that such displays inside courthouses in two counties were unconstitutional. 

Kentucky isn’t the only state dealing with religious issues, but Ed Buckner, president of American Atheists, said it’s alone in officially enlisting God in homeland security. 

“I’m not aware of any other state or commonwealth that is attempting to dump their clear responsibility for protecting their citizens onto God or any other mythological creature,” Buckner said. 

State Rep. David Floyd, R-Bardstown, said the preamble to the Kentucky constitution references a people “grateful to almighty God,” so he said he sees no constitutional violation in enlisting God in the state’s homeland security efforts. 

“God help us if we don’t,” he said.
