Can We Awaken From This MarxoFascist Totalitarian Nightmare?

A prophetic but chilling warning about how America is repeating the history of past Republics by accepting and preferring  a totalitarian form of government.

“…Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and … accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. ” The Declaration of Independence.

Many Americans are awakening to a reality that the country they once knew is gone, replaced by a “Progressive” Marxist/Socialist Oligarchy.  The past week reveal that the Obama regime has used the government’s agencies to wage war on Americans, silence Christians and Conservative groups, spy on the media and private citizens, harass citizens who attempt to involve themselves in politics, and punish political opposition to the ‘fundamental transformation’ Obama is imposing on the country.

Ambassador Alan Keyes asks a question this author has been asking since 2008 – can this country awaken itself from it’s stupor?  Can this nightmare of a totalitarian Marxist state be stopped? Or are we too late and comfortable with it already??

Methinks it’s the latter.  A majority clearly prefer tyranny to liberty, and yet they will call it freedom.

Totalitarian Subversion- Can we Awaken from the Nightmare?

Whatever Obama, Hilary Clinton, Susan Rice and other Obama faction officials were seeking to achieve with their lies about the terrorist murders of U.S. officials in Benghazi; whatever the full extent of the ideologically motivated political abuses at the IRS, one thing is clear. Except for mindless apparatchiks, thoughtlessly loyal to the Obama cult, (like Chris Matthews and Al Sharpton, for example) no sane person can now consider it crazy or irrational to distrust the words and actions of those presently controlling the U.S. government. These scandals show the self-serving ‘chutzpah’ of Obama’s snide dismissal of people who “warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s at the root of all our problems….They’ll warn that tyranny [is] always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices.”

In one respect, Obama’s words ring true. Tyranny isn’t just around the corner. It is already upon us. Its forces are not yet confident enough to employ the ‘Gestapo’ tactics routinely associated with socialist dictatorship. But they have obviously been using their control of the Federal bureaucracy to repress and intimidate individuals and grassroots organizations, preoccupying their time and depleting their resources. Should we be encouraged by the fact that these abuses are now being openly discussed and decried? Only if the stir actually leads to actions that effectively curtail them, while establishing am oversight mechanism that assures continually formal and public scrutiny, to make sure that they cannot be repeated without an immediate outcry.

But what if no such action is taken? Inaction is likely, given the collaborative mindset of the GOP leaders in the U.S. House, and the Obama faction’s solid majority in the U.S. Senate. If it happens these abuses will recur in a more virulent form. And they will spread, like an infection treated with an inadequate course of antibiotics. People will realize that the abuses are still in train, and that their elected officials have done nothing to reduce each individual’s vulnerability. Increasingly tinged with fear, the angry public reaction against the abuses will wane. Spreading from one individual to another, as episodes of abuse proliferate, this individual fear will gradually intensify until it dominates the public mind. This is the way tyranny subverts peace of mind.

Is this part of the reason the Obama faction volunteered these revelations? Is it part of the reason elements of the elitist faction are so willing to air this dirty laundry? If no effective controls are put in place, the result could generate a corrosive atmosphere of fearful expectation, that predisposes people to forestall abuse by submitting to those responsible for it. Was it from wise precaution against this corrosion of the spirit of liberty that, unlike Barack Obama, America’s founders saw it as ”…proper to take alarm at the first experiment on our liberties”; and went on to praise the “free men of America” who “did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise…They saw all the consequences in the principle, and they avoided the consequences by denying the principle.” (James Madison, Memorial and Remonstrance Against Religious Assessments)

Barack Obama is a man whose ruthless ideological consistency leads him to disdain the natural rightness of human life, in its most affecting and helpless form. For example, his advocacy of unconstrained access to abortion is so extreme that he countenanced infanticide in order to assure it. He understood and frankly accepted that this ruthless position was a necessary consequence of the logic that justifies so-called “abortion rights”. The heartily soul destroying effect of his logical extremism was recently revealed at trial, in the jocular morbidity of Kermit Gosnell, who now stands convicted of such murders.

Given his calculated fanaticism, Obama is just the type to deploy the heartless bureaucratic, police and military forces of government against citizens whose only crime is to exercise the rights that are their birthright, under God and the Constitution. Today public attention focuses on the IRS, abused to attack the resources and curtail the political activity of those who oppose the design for despotism. Soon and very soon it will be the IRS and the police, abused to attack free speech and the free exercise of religion. Then it will be Homeland security and local police forces, under the guise of anti-terrorist martial law, abused to arrest and detain evangelical Christians, Catholics, homeschoolers, and those who exercise their 2nd Amendment rights. Then it will be OBama’s fondly imagined domestic army, as large and well-funded as the military, moving against States whose officials who refuse to acquiesce in the unconstitutional abridgment of the residual sovereign rights guaranteed to the States, respectively, and to the people, by the U.S. Constitution’s 10th Amendment.

Please don’t make the mistake of believing that this design for despotism is exclusively the sinister ambition of Democrats like Obama. For years I tried to warn people in the GOP about Obama’s commitment to totalitarian communist approaches to politics and economics. For years I tried to help them recognize his rejection of the principles whereby the requirements of God-endowed right limit the just powers of government. For years I inveighed against his pro-abortion extremism; his disdain for the God-endowed rights of the natural family; his hostility to America’s international and national security requirements.

I gradually came to realize that the leadership of the Republican Party is incapable of responding effectively to Obama’s treacherous betrayal of constitutional self-government, or even admitting it. Why? Because that leadership is itself in the grip of forces that differ from Obama only in the more openly self-serving style of their betrayal. They purport to represent and speak for the large plurality of Americans loyal to the Constitution. They pretend to respect the ideas of God-endowed unalienable rights and limited government from which the Constitution derives. But they have in fact abandoned every goal of political life except the successful pursuit of governmental power, and the self-aggrandizing abuses it makes possible.

In the WND article published on Friday I argued that, because the IRS “overturns the priority of natural right over humanly instituted authority”, it is a design woven into the fabric of tyranny. In similar fashion, because it has substituted power for justice as the end of civil society, the elitist faction’s sham two-party system is also a design woven into the fabric of tyranny. When America’s founders framed our form of government, they did so with justice in view (see Federalist #51). Institutions like the IRS and the elitist faction’s sham two-party system are like viruses. Though written in the language the founders used, they have been introduced into the program of American government in order to rewrite its code for a different purpose. They exist, as it were, to reweave the whole cloth of American life. They are part of a phalanx of similarly viral mechanisms, including now the public schools, and much of the news and entertainment media, that have been transformed from factors of liberty into engines of elitist totalitarian indoctrination and control.

This is, in the tactical sense, the realization of the Antonio Gramsci’s comprehensive vision of totalitarian, socialist, political subversion. We can awaken from it, as from a stifling nightmare, but only if we are willing to exert our minds to see all its fabrications for what they are. Only then will we cease to be manipulated and subdued by the delusory hopes and fears they represent.

Obama – Design for Despotism

This entry by Mr. Keyes is perhaps one of the best historical analysis and observations of where we are in the tyranny that is now unfolding upon us.

Read it.

Ponder it.

Consider it.

It is the unabashed truth of where we are.

But let me just state an observation – that the Bush-hating imbeciles that were constantly screaming about violations of the Constitution, are today… strangely silent.

Which vindicates my total disgust, suspicion and contempt of them.

These days arrogant pundits have a tendency to sneer at the very thought of “conspiracy theory”. This reminds me of Verbal’s pithy pronouncement from the movie “The Usual Suspects” (not for family viewing, by the way) that “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist.” But when I’m tempted to let snide punditry influence my thinking I more often call to mind the above quoted words from America’s Declaration of Independence. It reminds us that people who want to preserve their liberty must be willing to keep in mind the possibility that the actions of their government leaders may be part of a “design” (that is, a consciously contrived plan of concerted actions) aimed at establishing despotic rule over them. If the American Founders left room for a little conspiracy theory, why shouldn’t we? Indeed, in the cyber age we should be more open to it than ever. After all, when it comes to human activities, “conspiracy” is just another word for systematic programming. The key question in that context: What is the goal?

I’ve been asking myself that question as I consider the Alleged Usurper’s recent power grab involving the Census Bureau. And I’m not just referring to the obviously partisan purposes it may serve. What struck me more was the unnecessarily arrogant fashion in which the Obama faction declared control over an activity that the Constitution clearly states shall be determined by law. Existing law places the Census bureau under the supervision of the Secretary of Commerce. A change must be made in the law before the White House can constitutionally alter that arrangement. Admittedly, with a Democrat majority in both Houses, Obama will have things his way. But at the very least, appearing to issue orders not authorized by law (as the Constitution requires) smacks of a hasty if not dictatorial temperament. However, my concern isn’t about temperament, either.

Years ago, I wrote my doctoral dissertation at Harvard. I focused on Alexander Hamilton’s contribution to the U.S. Constitution. As I researched and ponder this subject, I was struck by the dangerous abuses of executive power that might arise, under certain circumstances, because of the assumptions the Framers made with respect to the characteristics of the American people. The Constitution’s famous system of checks and balance works only on the assumption that the different branches of government will jealously guard their own Constitutional prerogatives and the prerogatives of the people they are supposed to represent; and will therefore adamantly resist encroachments upon them. If one branch or another takes unconstitutional initiatives, the judiciary has means to forestall the effects in some cases. In others, the legislature has the power to remove the offending officials. The executive can simply refuse to carry out unconstitutional actions. But, by the same token, only the executive has frequent opportunity to carry on an unconstitutional initiative until it produces a concrete result that can be challenged only after the fact. An individual might, for example, be unconstitutionally arrested, tortured and killed under the auspices of executive authority long before either of the other branches even hear about the action, much less have any chance to intervene. The first safeguard against such abuse is the character of the one vested with executive power. But if that person has the disposition to move beyond the law until met with hard resistance (to probe with bayonets, as Lenin put it), great and perhaps fatal harm could be done before such resistance sufficed to stop him.

There will be a special danger in this regard if the executive in question has enough support in the Congress to make him confident that his abuses will not be challenged, or that challenges will never have sufficient support to achieve the only outcome that will definitely remove him from Constitutional authority, which is to say, impeachment and removal from office. Can we say with any confidence that we are not in this situation of special peril to liberty?

The present occupant of the White House assumed residence while refusing to provide credible evidence that he is in fact constitutionally qualified to serve as President. Neither the judiciary nor the Congress, nor any other government officials, showed any disposition to defend the terms and authority of the Constitution. Unlike Arnold Schwarzenegger and others, Obama took the initiative to run for President despite whatever knowledge still impels him to withhold from public view the document that would rebut the substantial allegation that he is not a natural born U.S. citizen, and therefore unqualified to serve. Following Lenin’s dictum, he probed. He met no resistance. He has so far gotten away with it.

Does his dictatorial presumption with respect to the administration of the census reflect the same tactical disposition? If he so casually crosses the line of respect for Constitutional formalities with no shred of cover from the circumstances of his action, what will he do when some emergency actually seems to authorize extraordinary measures? He has already called for a domestic security force as large and well funded as the military. He has already begun to tout the economic crisis as something that can only be solved by centralizing more and more power under his control. His supporters have already begun an effort to replace allegiance to the Constitution with personal allegiance to him. Taken alone, such things might be meaningless. But altogether, like the threads of a tapestry, they begin to suggest a design.

Someone who plays the party dictator when nothing is at stake may just be practicing for the moment when everything hangs in the balance. And if Congress is willing to tolerate such infringements of the Constitution when there’s nothing to fear, what must we expect if and when some catastrophe calls for armed forces in the streets, and the prerogatives of disaster arm executive whims with raw power to do things far more threatening than the partisan rearrangement of the bureaucracy?

Let’s not pretend that we live in times when such events are at all unlikely to occur. On the contrary, the last terror attack hit upon our soil in a time of relative prosperity. If the next one wrenches us in the midst of an economic depression, will the twin demons of fear and economic misery leave people with much heart for liberty? Or will it seem a pointless distraction from the imperatives of survival. Such times call for a leader whose heart will be the repository of America’s love of freedom, keeping the flame alive in spite of all. But human history suggests that they are more likely to spawn leaders that seize the opportunity to do what their ambition, their ideology, or their resentful disposition has inclined them to do all along: seize the day; seize the power; and use that power to snuff out the flame of liberty, and scatter its dying embers.

I know that there are some Americans so far gone that they look without concern upon the prospect of such despotism. For them, the so-called economic stimulus boondoggle is like the distribution of money a new Roman Caesar would make to woo the support and loyalty of the Praetorians and the Roman rabble. Like such Romans, they are doubtless the ones who will gladly serve as servile henchman of despotic ambition, as it works to cow, seduce and subdue the rest of us. But are they so many that the little harbingers of tyranny, carried upon the winds of so-called change, have no audience capable of understanding and responding to their significance? 

Are there no Americans left willing to see with an eye jealous of our freedom, and stand, with hardy, God struck spirits upon the rights He has designed for us?
