Screw America – Liberty Is Officially Dead In This Country

For the first time in our entire history, a Christian is jailed for exercising her faith and refusing to obey a lawless Supreme Court decision that had no power to create law or rights out of thin air.

Look at that picture again.  That is the future for biblical Christians in America – prison…. or worse.  All to the cheers of a hedonistic mob that worships the State and holds whatever an Activist Supreme Court says as Holy Writ, rather than abide what the Living God of scripture says.

The First Amendment is officially abolished… for biblical Christians – by default with this act of tyranny.  Yesterday it was bakeries and photographers who refused to comply with the homosexual agenda.  Today it is elected officials. Tomorrow – it will be you.  Already there are calls to ban devout Christians from running for or holding public office.

How long before there are calls to put Christians in camps or make them wear yellow crosses on their lapels?

Don’t roll your eyes.  History teaches this is exactly where all of this goes.

See, it is not enough that accommodations are made for her faith – as Genesis 19 clearly illustrates, you MUST approve, condone and even PARTICIPATE in wickedness that an evil mob and society says you must take part in.

District Court Judge David Bunning says Kim Davis will remain in jail “Until she complies” with the order and the “law” of approving homosexual marriage by affixing her name to marriage licenses.

After U.S. marshals took Davis into custody, she is expected to remain in jail until she agrees to comply with Bunning’s order, whom ordered her six deputy clerks to stand before him and state whether or not they would comply with his order to issue marriage licenses, at the risk of facing their own contempt penalties.

These creatures in government – who advocate defying laws when it does not suit their agendas and ignore those laws they disagree with – now demand compliance with their agenda.

So what we had here was a modern-day Nebuchadnezzar moment, an Activist Supreme Court has erected a giant golden statue in the image of homosexual marriage – and has decreed that everyone must bow down and give obeisance to it.  Kim Davis has refused to bow to the godless image of abomination.  She was brought before the Court of men, and threatened.  In essence she has said that God is strong enough to save her out of the fiery trial, but that EVEN IF HE DOESN’T – she STILL  WILL NOT BOW DOWN to their “law”.

So into prison she was cast, and will remain there it is said, until she complies.

America has become an evil and wicked nation.  It murdered an entire generation of Americans in the womb as a fundamental ‘right’, to the tune of over 55 MILLION infants.  It sells their body parts for millions of dollars in an industry that would make the Nazis blush.  It is forcing all to accept homosexual abomination under penalty of law while declaring it good, right and holy.

This country deserves EVERY horrifying thing that is about to happen to it, and I for one will not lift a finger or offer a single prayer to defend it. It deserves the Judgment that is coming and we will all suffer for it.

So be it.

I blogged yesterday on the story about the Muslim agent pretending to be a Coptic Christian used by Obama’s Justice Department to create a Youtube Video insulting Islam.  In going back and reviewing statements both Obama and Hillary made in the wake of the Benghazi attack by an Al Qaeda offshoot that killed 4 Americans – I found an out-of-place insistent statement made by both of them; that the U.S. Government was NOT responsible for the video.

Why make and repeat that insistence out front without anyone making an insinuation??  No one accused them of doing so – yet both of them vociferously stated it.  WHY?

Well, I contend that Obama’s regime WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING THE VIDEO.  A stooge patsy Muslim, coerced into working for Obama’s Justice Department, portrayed himself as a Coptic Christian and made the video probably at the Behest of Obama – FOR THE PURPOSE OF CRIMINALIZING ANYTHING CRITICAL OF ISLAM.

It also turns out that the official terms of Nakoula’s parole in 2009 was bogus, and that the administration used his parole as leverage to help him with their agenda: To create a climate for non-Muslim governments to enact laws that make criticism of Islam a criminal offense.

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, and Kelly Shackelford, president of Liberty Institute, penned an open letter to the American people last year. Hostility against religious liberty has reached an all-time high, they warned. The freedom of religion is being pushed out of public life, schools and even churches.

A man whose religious faith was repressed could never be a loyal citizen since the state was usurping his first allegiance and costing him his primary freedom. This is one of the most important distinctions that makes America an exceptional nation — if not the most important.”

In recent days, a Florida child was bullied by his public schoolteacher for reading his Bible during “free reading time.” The teacher was recorded on a voice mail message telling the child’s parents that “he’s not permitted to read those books in my classroom.”

Seventh-day Adventist preacher Eric Walsh was suspended with pay from his job as the public health director of Pasadena, Calif., after critics exposed videos of sermons in which he preached that homosexuality is a sin. Pasadena officials told local reporters the pastor was placed on paid leave while they investigate his sermons and determine whether he has the ability to lead a department that he’s headed since 2010.

A while back Rev. Billy Graham penned a letter expressing his dismay over the moral decline of the nation, declaring that his “heart aches for America and its deceived people.”

“The farther we get from God, the more the world spirals out of control,” Graham wrote, noting that the nation seems to be going out of its way to remove God from the public arena. “Just a few weeks ago in a prominent city in the South, Christian chaplains who serve the police department were ordered to no longer mention the Name of Jesus in prayer,” he wrote, noting that officers were only allowed to pray to “the being in the room.”

“Our society strives to avoid any possibility of offending anyone —  except God,” he continued.

We ask God to bless America, but we elected a president whose pastor asked God to damn America. We ask God to bless America, but we slaughter millions of unborn babies. We ask God to bless America, but we silence His children.

God bless America? We should be on our knees asking for His mercy instead. The time has come for people of faith to rise up and claim their Ebenezer. We need patriots who will take back this land. We need patriots who will say we are still one nation under God.

The storm clouds are gathering. The winds of revolution are blowing, friends. Religious liberty is under attack.

Years ago the Christian songwriter Steve Green penned a song titled, “Find Us Faithful.” It was a prayer that all who came after us would find this generation of believers faithful. The call still rings true today.

In these early days of the 21st century, the fire is flickering and the footprints are few. Storm clouds are gathering. The winds of persecution are blowing. But friends, no matter how difficult these days have become, let not your heart be troubled.

The time has come, brothers and sisters, my fellow countrymen. Who among you is willing to take a stand for religious liberty? Who among you is will to risk everything for the cause of Christ? Who among you is willing to rise up and declare that we are still one nation under God?

Obama’s FCC To “Police” News And Media

The MarxoFascists in the Obama regime are planning to regulate the news and impose a new oversight program of what is reported and why.

This is no surprise move to anyone paying attention.  The control of information is vital to a dictatorship and brutal tyranny.  Such a regime cannot allow dissent, freedom of speech or the reporting of news that showcases the nefarious deeds of rulers to a populace that has it’s minds shaped by propaganda.

There has already been talk by Congress creeps suggesting the government require the licensing of ‘legitimate’ journalists.  For it has been said by ranking MarxoFascist Democrats that First Amendment press rights should not pertain to bloggers and anyone who is not a ‘legitimate’ journalist.

The new FCC plan will use “researchers” placed in the news reporting industry to determine what is reported, how it is reported and why.  This is just an opening salvo, for the real target they intend to intimidate and silence is the internet blogs and Conservative talk radio.

Combined with using the IRS to intimidate and fine Conservative groups, prohibiting them from political activism – the MarxoFascist dream of silencing dissent will be realized.

The FCC Plan To Police The Newsrooms

First Amendment: The FCC has cooked up a plan to place “researchers” in U.S. newsrooms, supposedly to learn all about how editorial decisions are made. Any questions as to why the U.S. is falling in the free press rankings?

As if illegal seizures of Associated Press phone records and the shadowy tailing of the mother of a Fox News reporter weren’t menacing enough, the Obama administration is going out of its way to institute a new intrusive surveillance of the press, as if the press wasn’t supine enough.

Ajit Pai, a commissioner with the Federal Communications Commission, warned this week in a Wall Street Journal op-ed that a plan to dispatch researchers into radio, television and even newspaper newsrooms called the “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs” is still going forward, despite the grave danger it presented to the First Amendment.

Pai warned that under the rationale of increasing minority representation in newsrooms, the FCC, which has the power to issue or not issue broadcasting licenses, would dispatch its “researchers” to newsrooms across America to seek their “voluntary” compliance about how news stories are decided, as well as “wade into office politics” looking for angry reporters whose story ideas were rejected as evidence of a shutout of minority views.

Pai questioned if such a study could really be voluntary, given FCC’s conflict of interest (and, he might have added, the Obama record of going after political opponents).

The origin of the idea is a recrudescence of the Fairness Doctrine, inoperative since 1987 or so, to provide equal time to leftist points of view in broadcasting and other media that otherwise wouldn’t have a willing audience in a free market.

It’s an idea so fraught with potential for abuse it ought to have news agencies screaming bloody murder. The very idea of Obama hipsters showing up in newsrooms, asking questions and judging if newspapers (over which they have no jurisdiction), radio and TV are sufficiently diverse is nothing short of thought control.

But the reaction from the National Association of Broadcasters was mealy-mouthed. The FCC “should reconsider” “qualitative” sections of its study, it wrote.

The FCC now says it will be “closely reviewing the proposed research design to determine if an alternative approach is merited,” as a result of Pai’s warning. Adweek actually reported that as a “retreat.”

It’s because of this don’t-rock-the-boat attitude that Reporters Without Borders said the U.S. had “one of the most significant declines” in press freedom in the world last year, dropping 13 places to a wretched 46th in its newly released global ranking. If the FCC has its way, it can drop even further.

Sharia Implementation: Posting Anything “Mean” About Muslims, Is Now A Federal Criminal Act

The First Amendment is dead as U.S. Attorney says posting anything negative about Islam is a Federal violation of civil rights laws.

Yesterday it was reported that Obama’s regime (with help from John McCain)  is committing treason by arming Al Qaeda-backed rebels in Syria who slaughtered an entire Christian village.

Members of the Free Syrian Army reportedly attacked the Christian-dominated al-Duvair village in Reef on the outskirts of Homs on Monday, where they massacred its citizens, including women and children…The U.S. and other Western governments that are backing the FSA have acknowledged the presence of jihadists but insist that they’re only a small part of the rebel movement. However, al-Qaeda and other Islamic extremist groups have been at the front of the rebel movement since day one of the Syrian war that began two years ago. According to German intelligence, 95 percent of the rebels aren’t even Syrian.

The slaughter was committed as an effort by the Jihadists to implement Sharia Law in Dictator Assad’s formerly secularist Syria.

Why is this issue of concern for us in America?  Well, aside from Obama helping to create an Islamic Caliphate in the Middle East, the Obama regime is implementing by default, Sharia right here as part of Federal Law.

U.S. Attorney for the Obama Federalies  asserts posting the truth about Jihadists and radical Islamists is now a violation of Federal law.  This is defacto implementation of Sharia Law under the guise of protecting ‘civil rights’ for Jihadists and radical Muslims.   Interestingly, that application of ‘civil rights laws’  does not extend to Christians.  Everyone, including Muslims are free to demonize, denounce and insult Christianity and Christians for their faith and no such criminal violation of  ‘civil rights laws’ will be applied or upheld.

Well, I for one will continue to post the TRUTH about Jihadists and radical Muslims until I am forced to stop.  And you can be sure, this regime is going to attempt to force us to shut up.

Why do you think they obtained all that data and collected all those e-mails, cell numbers and texts from the press corps?

US Attorney Bill Killian: Posting Something Mean About Muslims on Social Media Might Be a Criminal Action Under Federal Civil Rights Laws

The First Amendment served us well for a time, but now it’s outdated.

Remember reading that England had arrested a guy for anti-Muslim Twitter postings in the aftermath of the Woolrich slaughter? And remember thinking, “Well, this is America, that can’t happen here”?
Oh yes it can. Obama’s Attorney for the Eastern district of Tennessee wants you to know that if you say something untoward about Muslims, the Federal government may imprison you.

Killian and Moore will provide input on how civil rights can be violated by those who post inflammatory documents targeted at Muslims on social media. “This is an educational effort with civil rights laws as they play into freedom of religion and exercising freedom of religion,” Killian told The News Monday. “This is also to inform the public what federal laws are in effect and what the consequences are.” … Killian said Internet postings that violate civil rights are subject to federal jurisdiction.

The posting he offers as a “for instance” is an egregious one. And yet this country has long protected, absolutely, egregious speech, such as hardcore pornography, for a simple reason: Either you are at liberty to say what you will or you are not. If you are constantly double-thinking every word you might say, for fear of being prosecuted, you are self-censoring, in anticipation of a possible prosecution by the government.

Rather than having a system in which people were constantly worried about imprisonment for speech, our country has evolved a simple bright-line code: Speech of all kinds, with a few exceptions that can be counted on three fingers, is absolutely protected.

Remember, the importance of this bright-line, no-exceptions rule of free speech was preached to us, even when some of us might not have liked it so much, as when hardcore pornography was afforded absolute protection under the First Amendment. In the case of hardcore pornography, it was argued — successfully — that having each artist weigh the possibility of an obscenity prosecution was too much of a burden on his free speech rights, and would have, unavoidably, a chilling effect on speech.

That was the rule then, and that was the rationale.

But now comes the Obama Administration to tell you that Yes, you just might be imprisoned for something you say online, so you’d better Watch What You Say.

Remember when Ari Fleischer said that, without suggesting any kind of legal penalties? Remember how the media freaked out?

But now comes the US Attorney for the Eastern district of Tennessee explicitly telling you that you may be imprisoned if a political appointee decides your political speech has crossed a line.

Somehow, I don’t think Tim Robbins will be portentously howling us that a “chill wind” is blowing across our rights of free expression this week.

Senator Dick Durbin Says First Amendment Is “Out Of Date”

Thinks Bloggers and Twitter Users do not have First Amendment Rights. Suggests Government has the right to silence those who are ‘not approved’ journalists.

In answering the charges made against the Obama Regime’s targeting and seizing of private phone records of AP reporters and employees, AND the criminal targeting and intimidation of Fox News reporter James Rosen by Obama’s INJustice Department, Little Dick Durbin defended Obama’s actions by in-essence stating the Constitution is out of date in regards to journalism.  He suggested to Chris Wallace of Fox News’ that he believes certain people should not have First Amendment Rights, and then went on to say that the Constitution is out of date in 2013.  He asks if the Constitution applies to Bloggers and Twitter Users;  “Are these people journalists and entitled to constitutional protection? We need to ask 21st century questions about a provision that was written over 200 years ago.”

So in Durbin’s feeble MarxoFascist mindset, only Government-approved entities in the press should be allowed the freedom of press and speech.

Thanks to the Obama administration’s attacks on the Associated Press and its representation in federal court that Fox News’ James Rosen is a spy for asking questions, one has to wonder whether the First Amendment applies to anyone in the Age of Hope and Change.  Fox News host Chris Wallace asked Senator Dick Durbin whether Barack Obama’s promise to have Eric Holder look into cases of abuse that he personally approved represents a conflict of interest, but Durbin dodges that question and talks instead about the shield law proposed repeatedly over the last few years as the appropriate Congressional response to the scandal.  However, Durbin asks what exactly “freedom of the press” means in 2013, and wonders aloud whether it would include bloggers, Twitter users, and the rest of the Internet media

Here’s what the First Amendment actually says: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”  Press at the time would certainly have meant newspapers, which were the high-tech information revolution of the day. It would also have included pamphleteers, perhaps even more than newspapers, as pamphleteers helped drive revolutionary sentiment.  Their modern-day analogs would arguable be bloggers and Twitter users, those who reported news and proclaimed opinions outside of the establishment press.

However, Durbin’s asking the wrong question.  The question isn’t who gets protected, but what.  Journalism is not an identity or a guild, but an action and a process — and anyone engaged in that activity must be treated equally before the law.  A shield law based on membership via employment in privileged workplaces or certified by guilds doesn’t protect journalism, it becomes rent-seeking behavior that ensures that only the large players get protected, as I wrote ten days ago.

Durbin’s question isn’t even the biggest non-sequitur in this argument.  The biggest non-sequitur is the shield law itself, which wouldn’t have even addressed the Rosen or AP situation.  And considering that the Obama administration ignored existing statutes in both cases, why should we believe they would obey a shield law when it got in their way?

What we have here, is a MarxoFascist regime and it’s sycophants like Durbin, TRAITORS ALL – attacking the First Amendment directly.  They have attacked Christians in their right of Free Exercise, they have attacked TEA Party groups, Conservative groups, anti-Abortion groups by using the IRS to attack them.  They are waging war to abolish the Second Amendment, they already ignore the Fourth and Tenth Amendments, and now finally they think they are powerful enough to attack the Press and decide whom can and whom cannot ask questions of this regime, or whom is allowed freedom to speak.

What’s the purpose of intent behind Durbin’s public comment?  REGULATING the First Amendment.  Demanding government decide who is and who is NOT a journalist.  Perhaps some kind of licensing scheme – and in the process (and argument that you cannot yell “fire!” in a crowded theater) they will say, speech and the press are weapons that must be regulated to demand “responsible” speech and press.  After all, this same bunch is currently arguing that Americans support giving up their Second Amendment Rights for “common sense” gun control.  Soon I imagine they will be saying that we must give up our first Amendment rights for ‘common sense’ press regulations.

This is not just about politics either.  It covers regulating speech about Islam.  Obama just last week warned Burma against persecuting Muslims – yet in his term of office, NOT A WORD about Islam persecuting Christians, the slaughter of Christians in Egypt or Sudan.  Who arrested a man for posting a Youtube video making fun of Islam.  Who told the world  that “The future must not belong to those who slander the Prophet Mohammed”.

We’re now in a full blown tyranny that if left intact, will not be satisfied by stripping us of what remains of our birthrights.  They will never be satisfied.  History shows that these same people, with this same ideology, do not rest until they exterminate their opposition in legally-sanctioned genocide.

Because that is where all of this goes folks.

The Ruling Class Moves To Silence The TEA Party.

On top of being called “Hobbits“, “Terrorists” and “Extremists” by our nation’s leaders including the Vice President; Commissioning the DHS to draft an Assessment that classifies them as “Domestic Terrorists“; enacting a national strategy to ‘counter violent extremists’ – Conservative Americans and TEA Party members have yet another effort being suggested by our nation’s leaders to deal with them: Silence their freedom of speech.

This is where it begins folks – the full-on efforts by the Ruling Class and our political leaders to not only criminalize you – but silence you.  First by the same methods Hitler initially used; via shunning and boycott which is never enough for tyrants who will historically ALWAYS resort to using thugs to physically bully and intimidate them into silence, before the State purges the threat they declare upon their political enemies.

It is now a wide use tactic of the Left in this nation, when confronted with the truth – to state that your concerns or questions are “not legitimate”.  This gives them cover with the aid of complicit media to dodge any accountability or public scorn.  Soon however, that becomes unnecessary as raw contemptuous arrogance replaces any need to attempt a deflection such as when Nancy Pelosi was asked what authority the Constitution gives them to mandate the American people must buy health insurance – whereupon she replied “Are you serious?” followed by contempt in refusing to answer the question and declaring “That’s not a serious question”.

From there historically, it moves to the demonization of the opposition as ‘terrorists’ that we witnessed last week, which will be followed by efforts to mandate that any and all concerns by the opposition to the ruling class be ignored and discarded.  When the opposition to the ruling class resort to their own efforts and assymetric solutions towards their cause and message getting out – the ruling class will simply make those efforts illegal and penalize anyone giving aid and comfort to those opposed to them.

Warner Todd Huston lays it all out, as former Presidential candidate and Senator John Kerry states that Conservative views are not “real”, “legitimate” or “factual” and suggests that the news media not cover the opposition viewpoints to this regime now in power.

As Mr. Hudson rightly notes – this is just the latest evidence that the Ruling Class intends to quash free political speech of Conservatives.

Want Proof of How Democrats Would Shut You Up, Tea Partiers?

On MSNBC, John Kerry told us that Tea Party ideas are not “real” ideas, not “factual,” and thinks that the media should stop reporting on anything that smacks of ideas or news coming from Tea Partiers. If this isn’t proof of how Democrats and leftists would use the power of government to quash free political speech, what is?

Not long ago, several Democrats tried to once again raise the ugly head of the defunct Fairness Doctrine that was killed during the Reagan administration in order to limit the free political speech of conservatives. In those dark days when Nancy Pelosi was Speaker of the House of Representatives, several Republicans talked about forever outlawing the anti-free speech rule. Democrats at the time spoke up in favor of the Fairness Doctrine and countered that they wanted to bring it back.

Fortunately, the Fairness Doctrine has not come back. But this un-American policy idea has been talked about by leftists every few years since it was torpedoed by Reagan in 1987. They would love to bring it back. And despite what they claim, the left would use a new Fairness Doctrine to squelch the free political speech of those on the right.

SEN. JOHN KERRY: And I have to tell you, I say this to you politely. The media in America has a bigger responsibility than it’s exercising today. The media has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance to an absolutely absurd notion just because somebody asserts it or simply because somebody says something which everybody knows is not factual.

It doesn’t deserve the same credit as a legitimate idea about what you do. And the problem is everything is put into this tit-for-tat equal battle and America is losing any sense of what’s real, of who’s accountable, of who is not accountable, of who’s real, who isn’t, who’s serious, who isn’t?

You see? You Tea Partiers are not “legitimate.” You are not “real,” not “serious.” Why, your ideas are so “absurd” that he thinks the Old Media should stop reporting on any politician or activist that spouts those “absurd notions.”

The media, Kerry said, “has got to begin to not give equal time or equal balance.” This means he thinks any ideas that don’t toe the far left, liberal Democrat ideological line should be excluded from reportage, eliminated from the public debate.

Now, imagine what he’d do if he had the power of a renewed Fairness Doctrine under his control? Imagine if he had the power of law behind his claims.

If John Kerry and his comrades on the far left had their way, they’d use the force of law to shut you up, Tea Partiers. The left would not use the Fairness Doctrine for anything “fair.” They’d use it as a but another Alien and Sedition Act to shut down the access to the public square now enjoyed by conservative ideas.

Talk radio, cable TV, newspapers, magazines, the Internet all would be targeted for Kremlin-like control of their contents by Washington D.C. if the left had its way.

In fact, speaking of the Internet, there is a new stealth Fairness Doctrine in the works. It’s called Net Neutrality, just another way for the left to impose state control of the news.

The secularists who constantly attack our religious rights in today’s America remind me of wolves endlessly circling the campfire, just beyond the ring of light, eyes gleaming in the darkness. Periodically, a beleaguered Christian snatches up a First Amendment firebrand and lunges at the wolves with it through a court action that forces them to retreat momentarily. But, the wolves keep returning, each time slinking a little bit closer to the Christians.
 
I’m writing today about the steady erosion of our religious liberties, particularly in regard to the continual chipping away of the First Amendment right to resist being forced to act against one’s religious convictions in public life.
 
* A Montana judge rules that healthcare providers are required to arrange for euthanasia when a patient requests it.
 
* A California court penalizes doctors for referring a patient to another clinic because they did not want to perform in-vitro fertilization for an unmarried couple.
 
* The Equal Employment Commission rules against a Catholic North Carolina college for refusing to provide its employees with health insurance that covers contraception, which is against Catholic doctrine.
 
* Catholic Charities in Boston is forced to shut down its adoption services because the Massachusetts court decrees that it will have to place babies with homosexual couples, in contradiction of Catholic doctrine.
 
* The Ninth Circuit court seeks to compel a park on CaliforniaState land to remove a long-standing memorial cross, rather than trade the land with the cross into private hands.
 
* A New Hampshire divorce court orders a Christian mother to stop homeschooling because her daughter “appeared to reflect her mother’s rigidity on questions of faith” — (which translated merely means, I suspect, that she is a committed Christian like her mother).
 
* Virginia mother Lisa Miller has defied a Vermont court order of January 1 to deliver her beautiful seven-year-old biological daughter Isabella to her former lesbian partner, Janet Jenkins. Lisa became a Christian, got out of lesbianism, and does not want to expose Isabella to Janet Jenkins and her lifestyle. Lisa has taken her daughter and disappeared, forced into hiding to protect her child from the monstrosities of modern secular sexuality.
 
Even in the face of these developments there is no reason for panic. None of these incidents by itself spells a crisis in the practice of American Christianity. None of them in itself presages the end of the freedom of religion in our country. Even all added up together they do not indicate that Christians are being thrown to the wolves by the courts — at least not yet. But the courts are allowing the secularist wolves to creep ever closer. And, to continue employing the allegory, the courts are shrinking the size of the First Amendment fires that our Founding Fathers bravely lit against the world’s darkness. Every judicial ruling against someone attempting to stand on his or her First Amendment religious freedom rights sets a precedent for the denial of those rights in the next court case.
 
What are Christians to do?
 
The choice of many, if not most of us, seems to be accommodation and appeasement. Or, what I call the Rodney King plea: “Can’t we all just get along?” The underlying motive here is invariably one of currying favor — trying to gain acceptance from the secular world around us. One of the most egregious examples of this comes from storied Notre DameUniversity’s President, Father John Jenkins. Last year, he invited President Obama, a notoriously pro-abortion politician, to deliver the commencement address at Notre Dame’s graduation. Here, at one of the great bastions of the American Catholic Church was an open, deliberate, highly visible rejection of the Catholic (and of course Christian) teaching that abortion is sinful and wrong. For a supposedly Christian university to so publicly honor a man who, throughout his public career has bent over backwards to support the slaughter of unborn babies, is to dishonor the Christian faith. Jenkins tried the nakedly political ploy of supposedly balancing the scales by inviting Harvard Law Professor Mary Ann Glendon to receive the prestigious Laetare Medal at the same time. To her everlasting credit, Ms. Glendon, a conscientious Catholic, refused the honor. In an open letter to Father Jenkins she explained that in honoring Obama the university was acting in express defiance of the U.S. Catholic Bishops’ request of 2004 that Catholic institutions “should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles” and that such persons “should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions.”
 
Appeasement never works. Whether it’s Father Jenkins trying to be Catholic and at the same time currying favor with the secular academic world, or Neville Chamberlain throwing Czechoslovakia to Hitler at Munich in 1938 in an attempt to make him stop bullying Europe, you cannot make a bully change his behavior by trying to curry favor with him. We conservative Christians can never succeed in holding on to our shrinking religious rights by “making nice” with the militant secularists. That will not work.
 
Another option open to us is to simply withdraw from the culture and adopt a ghetto mentality that concentrates on huddling in our local churches while decrying the sad state of things in society. This is what one columnist termed “the Amish option.” This, of course, is exactly what the militant secularists want us to do. “You Christians can believe anything you please, as long as you keep it to yourselves.” To a great extent, this is the posture adopted by British Christians, and to a slightly lesser degree, by Canadian ones as well. But, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not, by definition, able to be kept to oneself. “Go into all the world and proclaim,” our Lord said. Christianity demands involvement with our neighbors. Further, since Satan hates all things Christian, and seeks to destroy Christians altogether instead of being satisfied to make them merely less influential, he will not allow an increasingly secular society to leave Christians alone to mind their own business. The Neronian persecution of the Early Church teaches us that the great Enemy of our souls will cause his secular minions to actively pursue and hunt down the people of God.
 
And, speaking of minding your own business, it is becoming much more difficult for Christians to do that. To be an evangelical Christian and also a pharmacist is becoming a contradiction in terms. Refusing to sell a prescription for the “morning after” abortifaciant can cost a pharmacist his job these days, if the customer sues. In Canada, preaching against homosexuality can cause a pastor to be convicted of hate-crimes speech. And if Canada is there already, can America be far behind? We may well see the day in the not too distant future when clergy that refuse to perform same-sex marraiges will be stripped of their right to perform marriages recognized by the state. The wolves are not inclined to leave us alone.
 
Withdrawal is really not a viable option.
 
Two religious freedoms are at stake here: the freedom of conscience for the individual, and the freedom of religion for churches. The loss of either is severely damaging for America; the loss of both is devastating. As the secularists seek to strip the public square of all religious influence, they seek to shame Christians’ beliefs, silence public Christian speech, abolish Christian teaching from education, and prohibit Christian argument against any sinful and immoral elements of modern life.
 
But, if religious speech and Christian involvement in society is gradually eliminated, if Christians are intimidated by suppression or refused participation in society because of their Christian faith, then society will be the loser. Consider the sad outcome of the State of Massachusetts’ insistence that  Catholic Charities of Boston must place babies with homosexual couples. That Catholic organization could not abide by the court’s ruling without violating the Church’s (and Holy Scripture’s) stance on homosexuality. So, it closed its adoption agency, depriving the people of Massachusetts of one of the best social service organizations in the state. A sad thing indeed.
 
Note that as a society becomes increasingly secular, than the compassion and caring will disappear, because Christians are far more motivated to help the poor, hurting, and needy than secularists are. But, of course, the secularists will never admit that. They can’t afford to believe that they fall short of Christians in charity and at the same time maintain their smug superiority, which may be the only thing preventing them from becoming Christian.
 
The Church of Jesus Christ cannot shrink from the duty to which its Lord has called it: to stand up to the wolves and proclaim that Jesus Christ is the only cure for all of society’s ills; that every human being is made in the image of God and valued by Him, and therefore is worthy of our protection and care; and that the eternal truths proclaimed by Holy Scripture from ancient days are still the truths which give purpose and meaning to life today.
 
In a democratic, open, and free society, all religious believers must be free to live publicly according to their consciences. Correspondingly, all churches must be free to publicly proclaim the Gospel of Christ, administer programs of charity, denounce sinful aspects of society, and defend the dignity and life of those unable to defend themselves.
 
To this end, we Christian Americans must commit to taking an active stand against the galloping secularism of our time. Pastors and churches must throw off their reluctance to speak out against the evils of our time because of their fear of losing their 501 C-3 status, or incurring the disapproval of the local newspaper, or their denomination, or their friends, or the deacons, or whomever.
 
Against the encroaching wolves, we must be willing to fight for genuine religious freedom for all Christian believers (and others, too): the freedom to earn a living as Christians, the freedom to educate our children as Christians, the freedom as Christians to minister to the poor and needy, the freedom to participate as Christians in the debate of public policy, and most important of all, the freedom to proclaim the Gospel that Jesus Christ is the Resurrection and the Life into every corner of an American culture that is more and more captive to a spirit of death.
 
Stand. And proclaim the truth of Christ, my friends.
 
Thrust the burning light of Christ’s truth at the wolves.
 
“The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
 
It never will. 

Buh-Bye Freedom of Thought and Speech – Criminalizing The First Amendment

“Hateful Words” Will Be Prosecutable

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will end you up in prison.

That’s what the Marxists in Congress have just rolled out with the disingenuously titled “Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act (H.R. 1913)” that passed the Judiciary Committee on Thursday for a full House vote for passage next Wednesday.

In it, the Marxist tyrants have added gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and disability to the list of protected categories under federal hate crimes law which in essence will criminalize the First Amendment and make anyone speaking out against Homosexuality or whatever else the government lists – a Federal felon.

Think I exaggerate?  

During the Judiciary Committee markup of the bill, Congresscretin Sheila Jackson-Lee (S-Texas) said that people could be prosecuted for having a particular belief by stating: “We also need to protect those potential victims who may be the recipients of hateful words or hateful acts, or even violent acts.”

Every attempt made to get the Marxists to exempt religious belief and speech from the bill was rejected.  Every attempt to get the Marxists on the Committee  to define terms of ‘orientation’ that are ridiculously vague, was voted down.

The juggernaut of tyranny is overpowering our ability to analyze them at the rate they are firing them out of this regime in Washington.

But then perhaps that is the idea, to keep even those who are watching, so bewildered that by the time the really big tyrannical crap comes down – we are so tired and numb from the Marxist onslaught, one more affront just won’t seem to matter.

Just this evening it is coming to light that Obama and the Marxist regime is planning to ram nationalized Health Care down our necks next week – with little debate allowed and no ability to filibuster, or hold up the measure before passage.

But then this is how the Soviet Politburo and most governments under dictators operate.

Perhaps we have already arrived at an Obama Marxist dictatorship and we don’t realize it yet.

As has proved to be true in both Europe and Canada, this Orwellian piece of legislation is the direct precursor to freedom killing and speech chilling “hate speech” laws. It represents a thinly veiled effort to ultimately silence – under penalty of law – morally, medically and biblically based opposition to the homosexual lifestyle.

…Under the 14th Amendment, victims of violent crime are currently afforded equal protection under the law regardless of sexual preference or proclivity. If passed, H.R. 1913 will change all that.  It overtly and, most likely, unconstitutionally discriminates against millions of Americans by granting federally preferred status, time and resources to individuals who define their identity based upon aberrant sexual behaviors (i.e., “gay” and lesbian “sexual orientation” or cross-dressing “gender identity”).
 
Of course, this entire concept flies in the face of the 14th Amendment. It inarguably codifies unequal protection under the law, creating a two-tiered justice system made up of first-class victims such as those who self-identify as homosexual or “transgender” and second-class victims such as the elderly, children, pregnant women, veterans, the homeless and others who choose not to engage in homosexual or cross-dressing behaviors.

…This creates both a sociopolitical and legal environment wherein traditional sexual morality officially becomes the new racism. Those who publically express medical, moral or religious opposition to the homosexual lifestyle are tagged by the government as “homophobic bigots” to be treated no differently by law enforcement, the courts or larger society than the KKK or neo-Nazis.

 
In short, this bill places newfangled “gay rights” in direct conflict with our enumerated constitutional rights. It becomes the first step in the official criminalization of Christianity. It’s a zero sum game and someone has to lose. Ultimately, what we lose are our First Amendment guaranteed rights to freedom of speech, religious expression and association.
 
But the threat is not just some shadowy phantom looming in the near future. It’s a clear and present danger. While debating the notion of “conspiracy to commit a hate crime” in the last Congress, Representative Artur Davis (D-Alabama) admitted that the legislation could be used to prosecute pastors for merely preaching the Bible under the concept of “inducement” to violence.

And some people have tried to excuse the DHS report on ‘Right Wing Extremism” to be a simple misunderstanding of this regimes intentions.

Right.  And Hitler never really hated Jews either.
