America Given Over To Strong Delusion

Few will read the above quote from our First President and let his warning sink in as we watch the spectacle and debacle of this election cycle play out in front of us.

It’s 2008 all over again, except this time, instead of the mob ascribing all their hopes for change on a man running with a ‘D’ after his name, they do so with a man running with an ‘R’ after his.

As with the author of the following essay writes, I’m alarmed at the mentality that has swept up the people of this nation. Not so much over a single candidate , rather the insistence that a single man running for office is somehow going to save us all from the consequences we have sown for ourselves so handily in the past several decades.  This is not a hit piece on The Donald, as this author has been appreciative of the ass-kicking Trump has been giving the Establishment.  I’m worried over the mentality that has taken hold of those I at one time thought were on ‘my ideological side’ of the equation.

I ‘m convinced that the Executive will forever now be seen as either a Monarchy or a Dictatorship in the minds of those seig-heiling whatever vaunted political candidate is their messiah. And this is beyond dangerous for what remains of liberty and the tatters of the Constitution that still remain to restrain a federal beast.

For such a people are not capable of freedom or liberty. I perceive this people do not want a Republic or the foundational principles that founded it. They want a king.  They want a savior, and they do not want any of us bringing God into this.  They tell me to leave God in a box at church and shut up about the bible.  They say this is about saving the country,  not going to church.  We are electing a president, not a pastor they insist.

As if choosing a leader who is not governed by biblical and moral principles is a good thing.

As if there was a shred of hope in saving the country devoid of God or the bible.

Fools.

This people  will not accept the fact that if we are not governed by God, we will be ruled by tyrants.  Under the delusion that this people willingly accept, they do not recognize tyranny anymore than they recognize sin.  They justify both as good and right and normal, and who the hell are we to judge?

So they rally to men whom they think will save us and make us great again without the need for any kind of national repentance.

Where I disagree  in part, with this author’s position – is the focus of his realization of strong delusion on the meteoric rise of Trump.  I think if you replace Donald Trump with Barack Hussein Obama – you will conclude this nation has been under strong delusion for some time.

Half the country wants Communism/Socialism.

More than half are comfortable with making a man a dictator or king in order to achieve what they expect their Deliverer to accomplish on their behalf.

America Under A Strong Delusion

… Recently, I have reluctantly come to the realization that Americans, with very few exceptions, are really not interested in facts or logic. We are living among a generation where facts no longer seem to matter.

The truth of the matter is that America is finally under the judgment of God. Our nation has been given over to what it wants. America is under a deluding influence.

Such a deleterious condition cannot be remedied with better and more aggressive public policy arguments. The Scripture teaches that people can go so far in their sin that God finally removes His hand of restraint upon them and finally gives them over to what they want to do. This is the very thing that happened to Pharaoh in the Old Testament. After hardening his own heart several times against God (Exod. 7:13, 22; 8:15, 19, 32; 9:7), God finally hardened Pharaoh’s heart and gave Pharaoh over to what he wanted to do (Exod. 4:21; 9:12).

This removal of divine restraint as a sign of judgment upon a culture is also the key theme of Romans 1:18–32. In this troubling section of the Bible, after people no longer see fit to retain the knowledge of God (Rom. 1:18-23), God is said to repeatedly give them over (Rom. 1:24, 26, 28) to the sins that they are so eager to commit. The prophet Jeremiah anticipated that same type of turning over by God in his own day when he recorded the following chilling words from the Lord, “As for you, do not pray for this people, and do not lift up cry or prayer for them, and do not intercede with Me; for I do not hear you” (Jer. 7:16). We see the same type of judgment predicted for the end times as people will be given over to a spirit of delusion that will cause them to embrace the antichrist. Second Thessalonians 2:11–12 says, “For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.”

Why do I believe that America is now at this delicate tipping point? Largely, it is because of the meteoric rise of a person like Donald Trump in American politics. The man is a moral and verbal sewer. He has no political resume. Rather, his campaign has been buoyed by empty promises devoid of any real substance or meaningful content. He merely repeats mantras that the voters want to hear similar to the types of statements that Barack Obama gave us back in 2008.

You know the rhetoric: “I’m going to build a wall around America and make Mexico pay for it.” “We are going to make this country great again.” “Believe me, Americans are going to win again.” “We are actually going to win so many times we are going to get tired of winning.” “Trust me, it is going to be great.” This type of rhetoric seems more akin to that of a used car salesman rather than that of a serious presidential contender.

These sentiments are nothing more than empty slogans since they never reveal exactly how Trump plans to accomplish these great exploits. These are the sorts of trite statements that third world dictators endlessly propagate upon their beleaguered people. In fact, according to Imelda Marcos, the public expression “we are going to make this nation great again” is the very slogan that Ferdinand Marcos articulated just prior to coming to power in the 1950s in the Philippines and prior to Marcos’ imposition of martial law.¹

The fact that all the evidence indicates that Trump throughout the course of his entire life really never believed all of the conservative positions that he now supposedly holds² is really of no consequence to people. When anybody dares to shed light on Trump’s longtime liberal worldview by pointing out that “the king is naked,” they are simply shouted down as a “liar” or victimized by various other ad hominem attacks.

Such was the sum and substance of last Saturday’s Republican Primary debate in South Carolina. The masses really are not interested in information related to Trump’s liberal worldview since they have already made a decision to blindly follow Trump on the basis that he tells them what they want to hear. In fact, the bigger a fool Trump makes of himself on the national stage, the larger his poll numbers seem to climb. This, in and of itself, is perhaps the greatest evidence of the deluding influence that is now descending upon America.

Ask yourself a simple question. How is it possible for Trump to repeat the Michael Moore and Code Pink left wing lunacy that former President George Bush intentionally misled the American people about the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq in a recent Republican primary debate and in a conservative state like South Carolina, and have his poll numbers rise and not fall as a result? Such public folly would have been sufficient to derail any Presidential aspirations in prior generations. The only explanation is that the voters are no longer being driven by their mental and rational faculties. Rather, they are being primarily fueled by irrational emotion due to a deluding influence.

I realize that a recent poll showed Cruz leading his primary challengers nationally.³ However, this poll is an aberration with the majority of them showing Trump clobbering his opponents in upcoming primaries.⁴ What Republican primary voters are apparently on the precipice of doing, if the present poll numbers are an accurate indication, is to reject a Senator Ted Cruz Presidential nomination in exchange for that of a show man and a game show host.

Think about how monumental this is. Ted Cruz is an articulate conservative who has a track record of opposing progressivism not only within the Democratic Party but also in his own Republican party. …..Yet, this kind of man with this kind of record is no longer attractive to the majority of Americans voters. They would much rather embrace the progenitor of a reality TV show. What further evidence do we need to confidently say that America is now under a deluding influence given by God himself as a judgment upon this nation?

Further evidence of God withdrawing his hand from America might also be found in the recent deaths of former Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and Theologian Dr. Charles Ryrie. Both of these men were similar in their ambition to honor authorial intent. They were both giants and sources of great spiritual light in their respective fields. What Scalia was to the field of Constitutional interpretation, Ryrie was to the field of biblical theology.

Yet, within the span of a few days, as both men passed, these lights to the culture were removed by the hand of God. In fact, it very well may be that God has raised up Ted Cruz only for the single purpose of being rejected by voters in order to demonstrate once and for all that Americans are under a spiritual delusion.

Like the Ninevites of old, the current generation of Americans apparently are no longer capable of discerning their right hand from their left (Jonah 4:11). Of course, in my heart of hearts, I want to be wrong about all of this. I want to believe that there is still hope for this once great nation. I want to once again trust the good sense of the American electorate.

However, as explained above, I have my doubts.

Obama Insists “ISIS Contained”, “Not Growing” Hours Before Jihad Attack In Paris

Of course Obama also declared this week CLIMATE CHANGE to be the greatest threat on the planet.

TODAY – “The Obama administration is moving to increase and accelerate the number of Syrian refugees who might be admitted into the United States by opening new screening outposts in Iraq and Lebanon, administration officials told Reuters on Friday. The move comes after President Barack Obama pledged in September to admit an additional 10,000 Syrian refugees in 2016, torn by four years of civil war and disorder.”

What happened in France, is just a matter of time before it happens here.  Obama is IMPORTING THEM.  Perhaps his own personal army for when he needs to ‘stand with the Muslims should the political winds bode ill”.

So Jihadists slaughtered over 100 people in the Bataclan theater alone this night.  Attacks still ongoing as of this writing.  And Fox news radio says Obama just announced he was CANCELING his big speech that announced the closure of GITMO.  I expect he will just postpone that action and do it quietly next month as a Christmas gift for his Jihadist allies.

Obama is perfectly aware that the FBI itself is investigating 1000 separate ACTIVE ISIS groups, individuals and cells INSIDE THE UNITED STATES.

It’s only a matter of time before what we saw in France happens here on a much larger scale.  We have an open border and they are ALREADY HERE.

Europe on the other hand – is likely toast.

Europe may have already sealed it’s fate with it’s open borders for millions of military aged-men from “Syria” as “refugees”.  They opened their borders and just let the Caliphate’s army just walked on in.  This is just the consequences of that stupid and moronic policy.

American Universities Are Grooming A Nation Of Communist Pussies

Listening to all the griping going on in the latest upheavals on America’s College campuses, one cannot pinpoint what it is precisely that has the student bodies in an uproar.  Apparently the Race War Pimps of Only Black Lives Matter and their Community Agitators from Obama’s White House have stoked their mind-numbed Marxist Brownshirts at America’s Ivy League and major Universities across the nation to start the Red Revolution early.  So they are setting fire to the cribs of Socialism in order to tear them down before moving out to do the same with the rest of the country.

The common mantras of this new zeitgeist being stoked across the country on college campuses are:

• White people are evil and inherently racist.

• White Privilege must be admitted to – and then Whites must be punished.

• The Constitution must be overthrown.

Oh yes.  You read that right.  They DEMAND the Constitution be overthrown and ‘rewritten’ for Blacks.

Afrikan Black Coalition seeks to ‘overthrow the Constitution,’ ‘stop white people’

The multi-university Afrikan Black Coalition is calling for black people to engage in revolution and overthrow the Constitution, citing the need to “stop white people” in the “white supremacist world” of America. The Coalition declares, “White people have historically had problems making too many “mistakes.” White people need to be stopped. Period.”  The Coalition goes on to declare that institutional racism (the same ‘evil’ the student protestors at the University of Missouri claimed to be combatting) can’t be overcome unless the Constitution is overthrown.

Then, when you take a look at what the Useful Idiots for the Commies at Mizzou demand – you find a disturbing meme:

• They demand freedom from anything they deem to be offensive.

• They demand freedom from anyone that thinks differently than they do.

University of Missouri Police Ask Students to Report ‘Hurtful Speech’

The Missouri University Police Department (MUPD) sent an email to students Tuesday morning urging them to call them and report any hurtful speech they encounter on the campus.

In an email that was flagged by several Missouri-based journalists, the MUPD asked “individuals who witness incidents of hateful and/or hurtful speech or actions” to call the department’s general phone line “to continue to ensure that the University of Missouri campus remains safe.” They suggest that students provide a detailed description of the offender, their location or license plate number, and even to take a picture if possible.

Tomorrow – it will be you.  Already there are calls to ban devout Christians from running for or holding public office.

How long before there are calls to put Christians in camps or make them wear yellow crosses on their lapels?

See, it is not enough that accommodations are made for her faith – as Genesis 19 clearly illustrates, you MUST approve, condone and even PARTICIPATE in wickedness that an evil mob and society says you must take part in.

District Court Judge David Bunning says Kim Davis will remain in jail “Until she complies” with the order and the “law” of approving homosexual marriage by affixing her name to marriage licenses.

After U.S. marshals took Davis into custody, she is expected to remain in jail until she agrees to comply with Bunning’s order, whom ordered her six deputy clerks to stand before him and state whether or not they would comply with his order to issue marriage licenses, at the risk of facing their own contempt penalties.

These creatures in government – who advocate defying laws when it does not suit their agendas and ignore those laws they disagree with – now demand compliance with their agenda.

So what we had here was a modern-day Nebuchadnezzar moment, an Activist Supreme Court has erected a giant golden statue in the image of homosexual marriage – and has decreed that everyone must bow down and give obeisance to it.  Kim Davis has refused to bow to the godless image of abomination.  She was brought before the Court of men, and threatened.  In essence she has said that God is strong enough to save her out of the fiery trial, but that EVEN IF HE DOESN’T – she STILL  WILL NOT BOW DOWN to their “law”.

So into prison she was cast, and will remain there it is said, until she complies.

America has become an evil and wicked nation.  It murdered an entire generation of Americans in the womb as a fundamental ‘right’, to the tune of over 55 MILLION infants.  It sells their body parts for millions of dollars in an industry that would make the Nazis blush.  It is forcing all to accept homosexual abomination under penalty of law while declaring it good, right and holy.

This country deserves EVERY horrifying thing that is about to happen to it, and I for one will not lift a finger or offer a single prayer to defend it. It deserves the Judgment that is coming and we will all suffer for it.

Obama: If Congress Blocks My Iran Deal, I’ll Ignore The Law & Do It Anyway

How very fascist. So, Obama is saying that if Congress doesn’t play ball on approving the Iran deal, he might just go ahead and do it anyway. That violates the Constitution and the law. Technically he can’t do it – oh, but he will. Notice how Kerry sidestepped the issue? If Obama does this and isn’t made to answer for it or stopped, that’s the end of our Constitutional Republic and the actual beginning of a dictatorship. Even if a conservative is elected in 2016, by then $150 to 200 billion will have gone to Iran, effectively arming our enemies for our destruction. This president has gone rogue and we must reign him in – legally and physically if need be.

When you eliminate impeachment as a possibility and both sides of the political aisle are complicit in a Marxist agenda, you get this type of behavior. Obama is a narcissist with delusions of grandeur and a pen and a phone. Of course he won’t obey the law… he’ll flaunt it whenever he can get away with it. If leaders won’t go along with him, he’ll blackmail them or use leverage of some sort against them to get these so-called leaders to see things his way. This type of bowing before our enemies such as Iran, Russia and China will get millions of Americans killed. Obama knows and doesn’t care. This is treason you are watching unfold in the Oval Office.

Kerry Won’t Commit That They Will Follow The Law If Congress Rejects Iran Deal

A senior House Democrat at Tuesday’s Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on the Iran deal, asked Secretary of State John Kerry if the Obama regime would follow the law if the Senate rejects his Iran nuke deal. Kerry would not commit that the Obama administration would follow the law if Congress shoots down the deal by a veto-proof majority.

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) asks John Kerry, “But let’s say Congress doesn’t take your advice and we override a veto and the law that is triggered then imposes certain sanctions. Will you follow the law even though you think it violates this agreement clearly, and even if you think it’s absolute terrible policy?” Sherman asked.

“I can’t begin to answer that at this point without consulting with the president and determining what the circumstances are,” Kerry replied.

“So you are not committed to following the law?” Sherman pressed.

“No, I said I am not going to deal with a hypothetical,” Kerry said. “That’s all.”

But if that doesn’t blow your mind, how about more insanity from Obama’s point man on handing the Iranian Mullah’s nukes and billions of dollars to make their pledge of ‘Death To America’ a reality?  He really, really said this when questioned about the rallies and chants led by Iran’s leaders:

At no time was he made aware of an Iranian plan to destroy America.

Secretary of State John Kerry is still seeking a nuanced explanation for Iran’s government saying, “Death to America”. He called the Iranian government’s cries of “Death to America” “not helpful” and suggested that the Supreme Leader might not really mean it.

And now Kerry would like to emphasize that aside from the “Death to America” chants and the nuclear bombs and constant threats of war, at no time was he made aware of an Iranian plan to destroy America.

Yesiree bob.  The Clown Jester heading the State Department really said all of this under testimony. This is why Obama and his Jihadist pals are laughing their asses off at us.  They believe we are stupid enough to believe what Kerry said, and that there is no danger to the world with a nuclear-armed Iran.

But it’s not just the Dimwitted John ‘D. Student’ Kerry that says “Do not believe your own eyes and ears”- Obama’s CHIEF at DHS insists the following:

1937 Germany vs. 2015 America: Camps? What Camps?

The common refrain for non-Jewish citizens in Germany in the late 1930’s when seriously queried about the concentration camps was either to reply that they were from criminals and malcontents or to simply reply:

Camps? What Camps?

This is the exact same attitude by the majority of the American people today on a wide number of subjects relating to life and freedom within the borders of this former Constitutional Republic.

For example, most Americans have no clue what an “administrative search” is and if it violates their 4th Amendment rights to protection from unreasonable search and seizure. As a refresher, here is the direct phrasing from the 4th Amendment for those that are a bit rusty:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Pretty cut and dry, correct? How many of you, including yours truly, have surrendered this right in the past five or ten years?

Anyone who has flown on a United States domestic or international flight, so quit denying that you have not surrendered this Constitutional right. In fact in the case of Corbett v. U.S., U.S. Supreme Court, No. 11-1413, which was denied a hearing by the U.S. Supreme Court, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals stated the following in its decision:

As other circuits have held, and as the Supreme Court has strongly suggested, screening passengers at an airport is an “administrative search” because the primary goal is not to determine whether any passenger has committed a crime but rather to protect the public from a terrorist attack…..An administrative search does not require individualized suspicion. …Instead, whether an administrative search is “unreasonable” within the condemnation of the Fourth Amendment “is determined by assessing, on the one hand, the degree to which it intrudes upon an individual’s privacy and, on the other, the degree to which it is needed for the promotion of legitimate governmental interests.” United States v. Knights, 534 U.S. 112, 118-19 (2001)….

That balance clearly favors the Government here. The need to search airline passengers “to ensure public safety can be particularly acute”…and, crucially, an AIT scanner, unlike a magnetometer, is capable of detecting, and therefore of deterring, attempts to carry aboard airplanes explosives in liquid or powder form. On the other side of the balance, we must acknowledge the steps the TSA has already taken to protect passenger privacy, in particular distorting the image created using AIT and deleting it as soon as the passenger has been cleared. More telling, any passenger may opt-out of AIT screening in favor of a pat down, which allows him to decide which of the two options for detecting a concealed, nonmetallic weapon or explosive is least invasive.

Of course the Republicans and Democrats who receive tens of thousands of dollars in donations could not care about the Bill of Rights or CAPITALISM as all of my readers learned about at a young age and found it to be a suitable economic instrument for future success. Why do I bring this subject up in the context of this article? During the 1930’s, the Nazi Party of Germany had a nasty habit of supplanting its labor force by “recruiting” prison labor to keep the cost of manufacturing low; especially for dangerous industries like coal mining, ammunition production, and of course, chemical factories.

Fast forward to modern day Communist China and one realizes that the program they engage in by using slave labor to produce the plastic widgets and the ironic “Christmas” goodies Americans love to decorate with and the program the Nazi Party of Germany used to maintain low cost labor within its manufacturing facilities using political malcontents is in full force within the confines of our largest trading partner.

But is it isolated to just Communist China?

No.

In 1984 the Corrections Corporation of America (CXW) revolutionized the way prisons in the United States operate. The company took over a prison facility in Hamilton County, Tennessee — the first time a private operator was contracted to run a jail. More prison companies were created and contracts continued to flow — between 1990 and 2010 the number of privately operated prisons in the U.S. increased 1600%. The increase in privately operated prisons has outpaced both the growth of public prison facilities and even the U.S. population.

Just a fact to prepare my readers for what else was in the article:

Private prisons bring in about $3 billion in revenue annually, and over half of that comes from holding facilities for undocumented immigrants. Private operations run between 50% to 55% of immigrant detainment facilities. The immigration bill battling its way through Washington right now might also mean good things for private prisons. Some estimate that the crackdown on undocumented immigrants will lead to 14,000 more inmates annually with 80% of that business going to private prisons.

The prison industry has also made money by contracting prison labor to private companies. The companies that have benefited from this cheap labor include Starbucks (SBUX), Boeing (BA), Victoria’s Secret, McDonalds (MCD) and even the U.S. military. Prison laborers cost between 93 cents and $4 a day and don’t need to collect benefits, thus making them cheap employees.

Federal Prison Industries, a company that contracts out prison labor, made over $900 million in revenue last year. FPI has prisoners working in apparel, clean energy, printing, document conversion and call centers. While FPI claims that prisoners are gaining real-world skills and learning trades, some argue otherwise.

“This is a threat to not just established industries; it’s a threat to emerging industries,” says Representative Bill Huizenga (R-Mich).

The typical, average, reality television American would simply reply to these facts, “great, I get my Starbucks Triple Venti Mocha Latte dirt cheap in a prison manufactured plastic mug” or something stupid like that. But what they fail to realize is that it could happen to them, a false incarceration on trumped up charges or worse, to their children as demonstrated in Pennsylvania in 2009 (From theNY Times):

At worst, Hillary Transue thought she might get a stern lecture when she appeared before a judge for building a spoof MySpace page mocking the assistant principal at her high school in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. She was a stellar student who had never been in trouble, and the page stated clearly at the bottom that it was just a joke.

Instead, the judge sentenced her to three months at a juvenile detention center on a charge of harassment.

She was handcuffed and taken away as her stunned parents stood by.

Prison for profit is one thing. But how long until individuals start losing their rights to vote and own firearms due to trumped of charges based on political commentary on web pages begins? Too late my friends, it already has. If the Federal Government determines that it is in the long term need of our nation to detain individuals of questionable political belief to ensure a ready made supply of cheap labor, then those individuals will continue to be arrested and convicted. This dangerous trend will accelerate as America’s largest corporations look for low cost labor alternatives to the minimum wage circus being imposed by unions and Marxist organizations around the country. Don’t worry though, these camps do not affect tonight’s reality television or sports broadcasting lineup.

Thankfully, our nation has not proceeded straight into the evil Nazi practices of medical experimentation on its citizens or unborn yet right?

Welcome back to 1937 my fellow Americans. We are now no different from Nazi Germany that we defeated in combat except that we deny that we are on the same path and have not begun to openly round up Jews or other minorities due to their religious beliefs; however devout Christians and Jews should start to get nervous.

Oligarchy In D.C. To Create Insidious New DHS Gov Agency: Countering Violent Extremism (CVE)

CVE will become the American Gestapo – a Federal agency that will target Christians, Conservatives,  and anti-Establishment/Big Government organizations and groups.  But not Muslims.

Remember the IRS targeting of Conservative groups that got no media attention?  Remember the 2009 DHS Terror Assessment that lists “Right wing” Christians, Conservatives, Vets and anti-establishment groups as Domestic Terrorists,but made no mention of Islam or Jihad?

Well, this is the IRS scandal on steroids and INSTITUTIONALIZED.   House Bill 2899 establishes a permanent agency under the umbrella of DHS, tasked with ‘countering violent extremism’.  What that really means is that this agency will be charged to go after, shut down and eliminate any and all opposition to the Oligarchy, the Imperial Executive and their PC agendas in Washington.  This all being done under the guise that they are countering ‘dangerous violent extremism’, except that they do not define what ‘dangerous violent extremism’ is outside of simply stating that that ‘violent extremism’ is ideologically motivated terrorist activities – leaving which ideologies that will be targeted ‘open to interpretation’ of what groups pose a threat to the nation.

All the evidence is hiding in plain sight about what is happening to us now and where this all goes.  I have said before, a genocide is being planned and the groundwork is being laid for it.  A despotic Ruling Class will NOT ALLOW any dissent or opposition to their wicked and insidious agenda.  From the funding of genocidal slaughter of infants in order to sell body parts for profit to to the forceful imposition of homosexuality upon the culture by unjust ‘law’.   BOTH political parties are partners in establishing this tyrannical dictatorship.

Dissent will not be allowed.  Critics and opponents will be silenced.

This CVE agency will be the apparatus and tool of despotism that will be used to do so.

What Congress is About to Pass Could Shut Down My Website

We’ve recently brought to your attention two instances of nebulous language: the comments of retired General Wesley Clark about putting extremists in internment camps, and the new order making parts of our immigration naturalization oath optional for certain “religious” groups.

Words have meaning, and when they’re not specific, they’re left to interpretation. The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) has demonstrated such by redefining the taxing authority of the Congress, as well as what a State means when it comes to the Affordable Care Act. And now we have yet another example of dangerously nebulous language emanating from Capitol Hill.

If you’ve not read House Bill 2899, you should. This legislation would authorize the creation of a new government agency in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) — as if we needed another. Incredibly enough, this new agency is being sponsored by the Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Representative Mike McCaul (R-Tx). The agency is charged with Countering Violent Extremism (CVE). Here are the troubling excerpts from the text of the bill:

a) Establishment.—There is in the Department an Office for Countering Violent Extremism. The head of the Office shall be the Assistant Secretary for Countering Violent Extremism, who shall be appointed by the Secretary. The Secretary shall also appoint a career Deputy Assistant Secretary for Countering Violent Extremism. 

(b) Assignment Of Personnel.—The Secretary shall assign or hire, as appropriate, permanent staff to the Office for Countering Violent Extremism. In carrying out this subsection, the Secretary shall, to the maximum extent practicable, seek to assign to or hire for the Office an individual who has a demonstrated background in technical matters, on and offline media, or marketing. 

(d) Responsibilities.—The Assistant Secretary for Countering Violent Extremism shall be responsible for the following:

(1) Coordinating the Department’s efforts to counter violent extremism across all the components and offices of the Department that conduct strategic and supportive efforts to counter violent extremism. Such efforts shall include the following:

(A) Identifying risk factors that contribute to violent extremism in communities in the United States and potential remedies for Government and non-government institutions.

(B) Identifying populations targeted by violent extremist propaganda, messaging, or recruitment.

(C) Managing the outreach and engagement efforts of the Department directed toward communities at risk for radicalization and recruitment for violent extremist activities.

(D) Ensuring relevant information, research, and products inform efforts to counter violent extremism.

(E) Developing and maintaining a Department-wide strategy guiding policies and programs to counter violent extremism. Such strategy shall, at a minimum, address each of the following:

(i) The Department’s counter-messaging program pursuant to paragraph (2), including a plan to leverage new and existing Internet and other technologies and social media platforms to counter violent extremism, as well as the best practices and lessons learned of other Federal, State, local, tribal, territorial, and foreign partners engaged in similar counter-messaging efforts.

(ii) The Department’s countering violent extremism-related engagement efforts.

(iii) The use of cooperative agreements with State, local, tribal, territorial, and other Federal departments and agencies responsible for efforts relating to countering violent extremism.

(iv) Ensuring all activities related to countering violent extremism fully respect the privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties of all Americans.

(F) Identifying and recommending new research and analysis requirements in coordination with the Under Secretary for Science and Technology and the Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis and ensure the dissemination of information and methods for Federal, State, local, tribal, and territorial countering violent extremism practitioners, officials, law enforcement, and non-governmental partners to utilize such research and analysis.

(G) Assessing the methods used by violent extremists to disseminate propaganda and messaging to communities at risk for radicalization and recruitment.

(2) Establishing a counter-messaging program to craft strategic counter-messages to the propaganda and messaging referred to in subparagraph (G) of paragraph (1) which shall—

(A) explore ways to utilize relevant Internet and other technologies and social media platforms; and

(B) maximize other resources available to the Department.

(3) Serving as the primary representative of the Department in coordinating countering violent extremism efforts with other Federal departments and agencies and non-governmental organizations.

(4) Serving as the primary Department-level representative in coordinating with the Department of State on international countering violent extremism issues.

(5) In coordination with the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, providing guidance regarding the use of grants made to State, local, and tribal governments under sections 2003 and 2004 under the allowable uses guidelines related to countering violent extremism.

(g) Violent Extremism Defined.—In this section, the term ‘violent extremism’ means ideologically motivated terrorist activities.

Here’s what I take issue with in this legislation: what, exactly, is violent extremism? Who will determine what actually qualifies as violent extremism?

Let’s be very honest here, the liberal progressive left has been very adept at defining as extremists and extremism anyone or anything that doesn’t agree with them. I’ve been called an extremist. Members of the House of Representatives have been referred to as extremists. Constitutional conservatives have been referred to as extremists. Veterans returning from overseas contingency operations — that is how the left redefined combat — have been referred to as extremists by the Department of Homeland Security under Janet Napolitano. Funny, the Obama administration held a conference on Countering Violent Extremism and invited groups related to the Muslim Brotherhood and certain Islamic clerics — but no Christian pastors.

This is a dangerous bill, and the vague language here is almost Orwellian with what could be severe ramifications.

Now, let me share with you the inside-the-beltway procedural issue. This legislation is supposed to be brought to the House floor under what is called, suspension of the rules. That means it’ll be a basic coming back to town roll-call vote with two-thirds majority. Everyone who knows House procedures realizes that you bring up legislation under suspension procedure because you believe that way, it won’t have major opposition. There is little to no committee vote and deliberation, and certainly not much House floor deliberation and debate. So, all of a sudden, the American people will awaken to learn there’s a new agency in the DHS to “counter violent extremism” — which, as you can see, is defined by a single lackluster sentence.

Someone tell me, what is “ideologically motivated”? Could it be construed that conservatism is ideologically motivated? No, I am not a conspiracy theorist. But I find this rather interesting in that President Obama cannot bring himself to say Islamic terrorism, Islamic jihadism, Islamism, or Islamo-fascism. Paragraph (g) is truly left open to anyone’s interpretation. What about environmental terrorists? What about the Occupy Wall Street crew or anarchists?

Why is there even a necessity to create another government agency — don’t we have an FBI responsible for such activities? Perhaps this just exists to allow this administration to target any belief system not willing to cow to their “fundamental transformation” of America. So, could this website even be considered violent extremism?

The is the last week for the House to be in session before recess adjournment in August. My recommendation is that you contact the House Homeland Security Committee and the House GOP leadership and share your concerns about this legislation. My issue is that “violent extremism” is just too vague. Consider this: the actions of Nidal Hasan — as well as the beheading of a woman in Moore, Oklahoma — wouldn’t even fit into this categorization, since the administration declared it “workplace violence.” Matter of fact, the Obama administration is even struggling to condemn the Islamic terrorist attack in Chattanooga as “violent extremism” — certainly President Obama has not said so.

Ladies and Gents, U.S. House of Representatives Bill 2899 (HB 2899) should not see the light of day; it must be killed. We do not need another agency in the DHS. Moreover, we certainly don’t need to give the government carte blanche to declare “ideological” enemies in such a nebulous manner.
